Can see were GasGas wants to have JB finish season on the 450, that's what he is getting paid for.

CC makes more sense as he has considerable more recent seat time racing a 250 plus the Star 250's are known for good starts which is critical in MotoRcross

I dont think there is such a thing as an upside down outlet. Plenty of electricians do that

Haha! To me I would definitely call that upside down but I see so many electricians put outlets in that way now. I'm sure someone will...

Usually because they are wired to a switch (on/off).

I'm sorry. I don't get this Justin Cooper love for des Nations? He's had one or two good motos this year, and he is 80 points of the leader. The Dude is over 3 races off the leader, and has had previous shots at MXON why is everyone so enamored with this Dude. I am not saying Barcia won't have issues, nor Craig won't either, but we have got to try something different so put a 450 guy in there and Let's F'n Go!!!

This is how the manufacturer spec sheet shows NEMA 5-15 Duplex receptacles:

If Craig raced 250’s for the next couple of rounds and Cooper beat him, would that change your mind?
(Because based on Craig’s previous 250 outdoor results, there is a high probability he won’t be in the top 5).
I like Craig, but he’s better outdoors on a 450.

Also I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned, but Barcia dropping out of the running might have something to do with him only running comparable times to his teammate when testing the 250 out. (Which obviously won’t cut it)

That’s shitty workmanship is what that is.

How is it shitty workmanship?

This is an expensive, US-made, UL-listed, commercially-manufactured (by Eaton, one of the largest duplex receptacle manufacturers) power bar that is sitting on my desk:

This is exactly why it’s time for Decoster to step down. We need fresh blood in that role. RC or Dungey or MC.

We haven’t won in years. Can’t win on home soil. No team chemistry.

Time for change.

I can think of at least three names before I would go with Craig. Craig is a safe first base hit kinda guy. That’s fine.

But it takes a home run to win. And sure, maybe you strike out, but you gotta put a guy in who has the possibility of hitting you a HR. Because a first base hit just won’t do.

The teams we have been assembling are getting us 3-5 place. Might as well be tenth.

That’s my point. Go for the win. Take the risk. If you miss. Oh well. Live with it.

But stop picking riders that have no way of helping the team win. It’s a safe play for a podium. Cool.

But dang. Go for the home run. Go for the win!

I’m absolutely taking a Barcia, Cooper, J-Mart, over a Craig. Every day of the week.

And Barcia has always done quite well at the MXDN. He’s a total gamer. Love him or hate him. He’s a great guy to have on the team.

Craig? Safe pick. But totally underwhelming…

its like that so when most people unplug or plug an appliance it is grounded first when plugged in and grounded last after unplugging

Sure. That is why the safety ground is is longer than the other prongs. Here is how Eaton displays their receptacles on their website:

I'm in the industry, but that doesn't mean I know shit... Upside down installed duplex receptacles are typically wired to a wall switch. Standard install receps. are on a circuit wired back to a breaker in the panel.

Funny how we got off track here... Wink

Is it Craig? It sounds like it's Craig.....

I seen it done with outlets connected to a light switch.

I know, let's poll the candidate riders about how they would install an electrical outlet. That'll make the decision easier. ;-)

This thread reminds me of the old joke.... "I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out".

as in.

" went to a fight over Barcia and a wall receptacle debate broke out".

Everybody forgets that when Craig last raced 250 outdoors he was on an under powered Honda that only created power if revved...not exactly his style as his results in SX were not that great either then....

Truthfully the last summer he rode that Honda he was hurt and dealing with his FIM bullshit too. Not exactly a great situation to put in solid results.

One thing I think a lot of people over look when selecting a team is the pressure the riders are under in this race . Given the USA’s non-winning streak and the race being at home , it’s safe to assume that this will be the highest pressure situation the riders will face perhaps in their career . So which rider has a solid history of successfully dealing with that kind of pressure and is likely to thrive under it ? Ando was the guy for me at the beginning . He always rides hard , can come from behind as good as anyone and has already won a MXDN moto . When Kawi pulled him … Barcia became my choice . Now that GasGas has pulled him , the choice is more difficult . Craig looked pretty shaky under pressure when he won his title … putting him in on a bike he hasn’t been riding is only taking him more out of his comfort zone . I’d take Cooper now .

We need to send the best three riders period. The difference in opinion as to who those are is where it gets tricky. Anderson should be the one going, but that's not happening now and the 4th fastest is the debate.

is this really the standard for mxon selection?

Now imagine if AC, Webb, and MM were racing.... add 3 spots.

Great supercross rider, but I don't see us winning with him. I will be happy if he proves me wrong.

Here is jcoop for reference.

He start basically dead last both motos at red bud and had a really bad pala. even with that. much more solid season than craig. 24 more points.

Obviously the fastest guys are in the 450 class but really and truly these guys are all at the same skill level outdoors besides the top tier in each class - 250 class has the lawrence bros, 450 class has chase and eli.

Edit.

To add to this. cooper has been on the podium in 50% of all the motos this season. just seems like a no brainer between the two. And it's not like craig would be setting the world on fire in the 250 class. and craig also hasn't been getting a bunch of holeshots this outdoor season either.

It's the depth in the 450 class... After Eli and Chase you have Anderson, Roczen, Cairoli (early on), Barcia, Dungey, etc... The 250 class falls off after Jett, Hunter and Shimoda... So I would expect Cooper to be getting more podiums than Craig. But they are really close IMHO. I'm fine with either...
