It seems KTM and you can throw their whole Husky and GG teams in there too, havent won much this year. All i can remember is Musquin winning a triple crown. For a company with 5 times the factory riders (literally)than the japanese brands, this is not too good. I bet someone is Austria is pissed off.
And fyi.. the big names in Austria u mention are the tip of the problem... if they are torqued, it is because of their own doing.... too many shady deals... too many people simply blown off (or told to f off)... they didn't think what goes around comes around...??? lol...
Just look at how they have treated their own highly paid riders this year... ac222... Webb.... marv..... max... ap7... now imagine how they treat their "normal" workers... and I can tell you first hand how they treat consumers.... which is even worse than their riders or "normal" workers....

These days dirt bike OEM fortunes are not tied closely to race results.
In my case my husqvarna was the worst handling bike I’ve ever ridden even after a shit ton of suspension work and trying to like it for over 2 years.
Yet on the other hand I know people that absolutely love theirs.
Fit and finish is really no better than the Japanese brands either imo (excluding Kawasaki lol)
Reliability though they may have the upper hand these days, I don’t hear much about KTMs going through transmission or anything like that really anymore, other than the occasional snap in half they do seem very solid (no I’m not being sarcastic)
From looking around Jap bikes, yeah Yamaha and Honda are perfectly good and Kawi look much better recently and will likely be my next from buying with my heart instead of head, but the KTM quality / manufacturing is noticeably in front imo.
That doesn't mean they're better bikes and it certainly doesn't mean they should be the preferred bike for everyone, that's not the case at all.
But it's like a Golf next to a Civic, both are perfectly good and both do their job just fine, but going purely off of overall quality and manufacturing the VW is in front and it's hard to argue.

A whole shitload.....
