Coolest (temps) National MX Championship in years?

Watching Washougal qualifying on YoutTube and seeing spectators wearing long sleeves I checked the temp and it is 61 degrees. Since Pala I don't remember one weekend with the high temperatures. Odds are the last four rounds will have hi temps but do any of you remember this many races in a row with such ideal racing weather?

The 9 round one (2020?) ran into the end of October I think. Probably lower temp averaged through the season.

I was at Pala, Hangtown and Thunder Valley. It got real toasty at all three. Colorado was kinda brutal...it always is.

Those bikes are going to EAT in those temps and I would expect rider endurance to be a notch higher as well. Here's to some excellent racing this afternoon!

Actually shivering watching qualifying. Shorts and tshirt. Sun might not break through. Thumbs are stiff from being cold lol

Forgot about Thunder Valley and for sure at that altitude the sun is brutal. But 79 (Prairie City) to 83 degrees (Rancho Cordova) isn't toasty.especially for Hangtown. i just looked up the weather on June 4th.to be sure.

It started off really foggy, cool and overcast at Pala. I left my hat in the car. Omg...when the sun came out I cooked like a piece of bacon. I ain't kiddin'...worst burn since I was a kid in Sebring Florida.

They are getting very fortunate with the weather at Washougal today. Tomorrow it gets considerably warmer, and stays that way for awhile. 90 plus feels a lot hotter at Washougal than it does here.

Covid nationals were awesome temperature wise since it was later in the year near fall months. It really just seems like they are getting lucky because it’s been exceptionally hot lately in the Midwest but it was only in the 80’s during Millville and RedBud.

Funny to see the climate change deniers already out in full force the second the word temperature is mentioned. 🙄

They've been pretty lucky dodging heat waves around the country. It was heat index in the 100s for a while here, Ironman could be a meltdown or a nice day, supposed to be in the 70s this weekend.

I will say as a mechanic it has been nice. Millville got hot though.

I saw Josh Mosiman doing an interview with Carson Brown at Washougal and he was wearing a jacket! Sexton said he wanted to jump in the creek but it was too cold as well.

Definitely cooler than any "normal" season I've raced in, but 2020 was dang-near freezing at some rounds. Pretty sure it snowed the mornings of Millville and Thunder Valley! I think it made the racing a lot better with people not getting as tired and the tracks retaining more moisture throughout the day. Plus, the pictures were pretty sweet with all the leaves turning yellow/orangeCool

Big time lucky especially with cool temps on Saturday but on Sunday right back to high temps at several venues.
