Pit Row
Reading this thread helped me make the decision NOT to buy the game. Tons of bad reviews, and almost all the good reviews come with a significant caveat
playstation supercross lobbies are stacked literally every night. having fun racing randos.
Looking forward to more updates!
It reminds me of how I felt about MX Unleashed, I couldn't wait to get off the bus to play. It. It also reminds me of Reflex in the sense that I just can't stay away from it because the physics are so complex and I just want to figure it all out, especially on the rough tracks.
I remember taking days and weeks to wrap my head around how to play Reflex well. Even winning against the AI was hard. This game is the same, except it has a few kinks they are still polishing. Looking back with rose-tinted lenses I can't recall any bugs or funky BS in Reflex and I think that really solidified the insanely great legacy of the game.
Legends feels great to play when you are in The Zone. I love free riding around, especially at the 2022 National tracks, they have a ton of cool shit like pit bike tracks at Budds and epic metal freeway jumps at Thunder Valley. Going into a corner and braking, holding in the clutch, hammering the throttle and letting her eat just feels right. I could ride Red Bud all day hitting Larocco's leap from the inside.. its almost like riding, you just want to keep getting better and throwing more style in it as you progress. Timing jumps right feels great as well.
The things I dislike about the game I believe will get remedies in the near future but are part of the experience for now.
-The AI is good on some tracks and terrible on others for some reason.
-The off track reset is incredibly finicky, sometimes you get a reset back to track immediately as you go off track and other times you can ride off the track for entire sections.
-The sound mixing is also bugged, some tracks the music is almost twice as loud and even having it at the lowest volume drowns out the sound of most everything else.
-Trackside banners are immovable concrete calls while Tuff Blox basically are weightless and will go flying 100ft when you ram them. I really hate getting stuck behind sponsor banners because you just have to reset
-They start you with crappy unmodded bikes that seriously suck. Even now when I play with all my experience, they suck and make the racing not enjoyable. Which reminds me of why I ever decided to subject myself to that again:
-Split screen on PS5 requires a separate Playstation user account, which really sucked when I realized that means that my wife had to start on those crappy unmodded bikes. Why can't my second player use the bikes, UTVs, etc. that I've unlocked?
All in all, this game is my jam and I'm going to keep pumping hours into it. I havent even tried online yet, so that will be an entirely new challenge that I look forward to. If you made it this far then thanks for indulging me and here are some warm cookies 🍪
Playing MTX, MVA unleashed, all out and mxgp pro in the mean time
I really really enjoy this game, more so than All Out. They nailed the feeling of the weight and inertia of the bike, especially in corners and how you set up for jumps. I've been spinning laps at all the AMA tracks. My favorite is Washougal, it has incredible flow to it.
Excited for the coming updates. I would like to have the option to extend the Career races to 5 or 7 laps. 3 is just too few. The other thing I would like to see is adjusting how much gyroscopic effect the bike has in the air. Bringing back whips and scrubs requires too much input IMO and it feels kinda unnatural. I would like the bike to straighten itself out more, like how a real bike does.
The more I play, the more fun I have. I only play in first person so the rider movements, while still wonky, don't really bother me too much.
