Super Interesting Opportunity For an Auto Mechanic
First off this is a paid position for a mechanic, 50-60k per year; with a perk of riding dirt bikes all around the country. Must be willing to relocate to Panama City, Fl.
I am looking for someone to join me in starting a YouTube channel reviewing OHV parks private and public, motocross tracks, training schools and clinics and some races. To make this work you will be a full time paid mechanic for my used car dealership. Primary objective is not necessarily making money but to have fun; money would be nice but not really anticipated. We will drive from location to location but fly home and back. The truck and trailer will not come home on a regular basis. We will be staying in a 48 foot Dutchman Voltage toy hauler. I get the master and you get the garage. All expenses paid on the road. We will normally only travel a couple times a month for the weekend but expect some places, fun places to be a little longer. I'm thinking about leaving on Friday and coming home on Monday.
For the real job. I own a small used car dealership. Your job at the dealership will be
Primarily diagnosing and fixing vehicles to be sold on the car lot.
Buying cars at auction online or in person or from individuals.
Maintaining the car lot and detailing cars to be put on the lot as time allows.
Maintain our bikes.
Auto Skills Required
10 plus years recent auto mechanic experience.
Ability (strength and know how) to change engines and transmissions.
Experience with changing timing chains on modern cars.
Must have your own professional tools and boxes.
In short you should be a professional mechanic.
Computer Skills
Competent with using computers is a must because of the next requirement.
Video Editing would be nice but must be willing to learn.
Edit videos and post.
Personal characteristics
Intermediate or better dirt bike rider
No addictions. I don't want to ride with a stoner or crackhead sorry. I drink socially but please don't be a non functional alcoholic. Obviously I will find out because we will be spending lots of time together.
Benefits 2 Options
1. Contract position pays $60,000 per year and no benefits. paid weekly -1099
2. If you want taxes taken out and to get benefits pay is $50,000 per year.
Health Insurance
Retirement plan matching to 5%
7 days PTO in first year and 14 after first year
1 new dirt bike per year. You will pay for tricking it out to your liking. Sorry I gotta draw the line somewhere. Likely will raffle or give it away after 1 year. So don't spend to much money tricking it out with parts you can not transfer to new bike.
$3000 towards relocation expenses.
We will have to ride together a few times to see if we like each other and you will need to prove your mechanic skills somehow. Professional tools and boxes go a long way towards that.
By the way the shop is new; actually being built now. It will have an AC and Asymmetric lift once complete.
I am doing this for a few reasons. First it will be insanely fun, second it will be a huge tax write off and third I am seriously considering opening an off road resort in the future.
About me. I am 50 years old, married, obviously a business owner. I don't really care how old you are so long as you have 10 years of recent auto mechanic experience. I also own 7 vape shops and this is what is going to fund this little adventure. You can be a smoker but no smoking in the travel trailer but you can vape in it. I guess that is about it.
Contact me and tell me little about you and yourself.

Honestly, I can't say I'd quit my day job to work 100hrs on the weekends being someone's personal bike bitch @50k/yr.
Just my 2 cents
Oh and we replace a lot CVT transmissions.
Pit Row
And to the original poster, selling 20 cars a month may be a bigger operation than you think.
So he works 5 days per week as a mechanic, then travel two weekends per month unpaid. And on his two weekends off per month it sounds like you’re going to have him producing Youtube videos.
Trying to own a guy every single day of the year for 50k?
I don’t think you’re realizing how much of a commitment you’re asking of someone.
I’ve got a better idea:
1) Hire a mechanic from down the street for your shop.
2) Go on fly away moto adventures with one of your buddies.
Don’t mix work and play. It gets weird.
Edit: Ok, so I read all of that last post. I’m not questioning your intentions, just seems like a lot to ask of a stranger. Basically be your employee and best friend/travel buddy? Still, I stand by my advice above. Work and friends/play don’t usually mix well.
