Is Hymas racing a 450 for real or is this classic ‘never change AMA’

Damn, Deegan is fast. I expected Hymas to be the class of the field.
Deegan raced red Bud in the spring , very smart to get the track down. Sorta cold weather then.

Hymas moved up to 2nd and was catching him, but I think he crashed.

A lot of kind distance travel by most of the riders. I would maximize the racing event. You practice Thursday, race pro track Fri then Friday and sat night hit the night track. Then Sunday race the pro track again.

Hymas must have gone down in 2nd... Lost 40 seconds and out of the top 10.

Hymas back in the top 10, could pick up a few more before the checkered... Deegan 26 seconds out front.

I figured D38 would be around top 5 or so. But leading?! That is impressive. Along with the fastest lap of the race.

Deegan on the amateur Star bike or does he have a full factory Star Yamaha at this you think? Impressive ride, regardless!

In one of his lap his sector 1 time was 55 seconds as oppose to 15-16 seconds.

Whatever it was, he's up and running so that's a good sign.

D38 with the white flag ran a 2:11 while everyone else was 2:13 or slower. Hymas went down again too. 2:32 white flag lap

That’s awesome for Haiden! I was indifferent on the kid forever but I hope he lays it down when he turns pro, vital will explode.

Looks like he went down again on the penultimate lap... Dropped back out of the top 10.

Catching him might be a stretch. I figured Chance would be a huge favorite, but lap times tell a different story-

Catching him? Deegan had two laps faster than Chance's fastest, and Deegan was faster on 11 of the 14 laps, despite backing it down a bit once he had a 30 sec lead.

Ehhh I don't know if you can call it catching him. I think one lap he might have got around half a second on him but Deegan was already out to a pretty decent lead.

I wasn't glued to the timing screen. Last I checked he was 8+ seconds back, checked again and he was 6.xx seconds back, checked again and he was down the order.

Yes sir.

There were several "He got the Star ride from the YouTube following" comments floating around here for sure. It's only 1 moto of one race but fastest lap 3 seconds better than anyone else is pretty damn good in a field like that.

Local boy Finies grabbed the start. Deegan second. Deegan made pass and was gone. Hymas wadded on the finish line and then Hawkins did the same a few laps later. Clough started about 5th and moved into second after halfway. Linville was about 11th on lap 1 and charged hard to 3rd. Fineis held on for 4th for a great ride., Beaumer and Baseflough battled together the entire time to the end. It was a really good race and the crowd for it was amazing. All team managers and tons of pros and industry were out watching in force.

It's actually remarkable when you think about it... It's still that far away. Wink
