I don’t listen to Gypsy Tales often, I love pulp and listen to just about everything they put out.
The first few times listening to Gypsy I couldn’t stand it, too much “fuuuuuuck” and “brooooo”
However I do listen from time to time when there is a guest I want to hear.
He has gotten considerably better each time I listen, the Herlings interview was great and he asks some really good questions.
I say bro and swear plenty in real life and not offended at all by it, but find it uncomfortable to listen to, he has made huge improvements, but still a little more to go.
With a little more polishing, Gypsy tales could be an amazing podcast and right up there with the rest.
Don’t dismiss this guy, The herlings episode is awesome, give it a listen!

It always seems to me that he talks more than his guests. And I think it should be the other way round.
Absolutely the cursing is needless. Adds nothing and is way overused by him.
He absolutely makes way too much effort to draw parallels from his life to the guests he is interviewing.
I have listened a little and find it difficult due to the broing as offered already.
He simply lacks a comparable background so he over does it in other ways possibly trying to measure up or appear to be more equal.
He absolutely needs to let the guest talk more. I am completely uninterested in learning more about the host.
Pings show is an excellent example of a great format. It must be working for him as he is expanding on the original concept.
Bubbas is another great show.
I will not seek out his show and listen to it. Looks like others feel the same way. Yes he has had some very compelling guests on. Makes it more difficult not to listen.
Edit: Great comment about the Jujitsu. He brings this up the few shows I have listened to. This clearly an effort to appear on equal ground with who he is interviewing. Just using the word typically commands a certain level of respect. I now have to doubt how much he actually trains in that discipline. The personal satisfaction of learning that skill should be enough without insuring everyone else knows it.
To me, Podcasts are the same. Gypsy is a total different flavour, I enjoy his style from time to time.
I guess if Gypsy rubs you wrong, don’t listen?!
I also thought it was pretty piss weak of Gypsy tales, when Mathes invited him on to have a constructive conversation to bury the beef between them and he held back massively. To only continue to talk shit about him with his guests after the episode.
I could care less, but all the new podcast basically shit on Mathes for what ever reason and basically copy everything he does and paint it as 'different' .
Yes, he talks more than I'd like, rather than the guests. Yes, he talks about his martial arts slightly too much, maybe for credibility, maybe because it's the closest he gets to something a rider is talking about. Maybe he simply likes martial arts. I think he talks about it only slightly too much.
He cusses a lot, but that doesn't really bother me.
The thing is, he has good guests, asks good questions, and many times gets the guests talking about things that they normally wouldn't.
And he loves our sport.
And he rides.
I'm good with it.
Beside those things he gets some really good people and most of the non moto guests are also very good

GypsyTales has 98.4K subscribers... I dont understant how many comments i see about improving his show yet he seems to be putting out the numbers for views and people who are wanting to come onto the show.
I think a lot of the conversations he has and the whole "bro" things is what comforts the people he is interviwing and makes it more of a relaxed vibe. which ends up leading to us getting to hear the stories some atheltes/people might not always share within a normal interview.

So I don’t really care who the interviewer is as long as they get good content out of the interviewee.
The Herlings interview had good content.
I like to listen to podcasts on my speaker whilst in the shop and sometimes in the kitchen whilst cooking or cleaning and there’s very likely other people around- customers or family.
And that’s when you notice the needless swearing.
And it’s uncomfortable.
Once or twice occasionally nobody around me would bat an eyelid.
But the constant “fuck bro, fuck” becomes uncomfortable.
I don’t listen to him because of it.
Maybe when Herlings does an interview with Pulp or Ping you can go take a listen ….
Purely constructive, maybe calm down on the BJJ a touch also, it almost comes across like that kid who has to keep telling people he trains MMA, although I'm certain it isn't meant that way.
At the end of the day, the audio and production is pretty great and there have been some very interesting and impressive guests and he does get them to open up which is excellent on his part, but just chill - you'll be a cool kid by association, you don't have to force it, which is what it comes across like sometimes. He does have a real talent, so it's got to be worth making some minor tweaks to keep growing and progressing.
I suppose you can't fake personality doing what he does, so he has just gotta be himself.
I don't really dig the way Mathes and the other older guys with podcasts present themselves and talk. I do enjoy their content though!
I think it's generational to be honest.
