KTM is better off employing Dungey and Cairoli than Paul Webb. KTM needs to look at who can win titles in both MX and Sx. Rider gets hurt in Sx and is Sx only, then what?

I don't understand how this is even an issue maybe we don't have all the information but the exposure Tony gives to KTM for being here in the u.s. is priceless not to mention is a absolute legend that everybody wants to see ride and happens to be the number one KTM in the series! Maybe KTM doesn't care about the outdoors anymore?

Wow! Thank you for posting this!

The flame that burns twice as bright burns only half as long. Ktm seems to be victims of their own success. Burnt out riders, team and management.

So after this little tour to the states, will 222 go down as one of the top fan favorite rider ever?

Really wish he could stay longer to race the more Euro style tracks coming up.

Antonio is probably the most popular Mx rider around. Just a great guy. The Riders are all pumped to be racing and hanging with his family. The industry guys are the same, and the Cairoli’s are just smiles.

Loved by everyone except 1 guy at KTM who has enough sway. No idea who that is though.

I just love how well received he has been by the fans in the states. Everyone is pumped he’s here. Honest question, I don’t remember…. What was the welcoming like for RV overseas?

Great thread for a true legend, some great pics.

It's cool Toni is still saying he'd like to get some more races in this season, hope it comes together.

Truly awesome guy and I guess however this has gone, he's made memories for countless fans and him and his family.

All the pictures of his kid running around having a blast is wholesome as hell. It's awesome seeing him here racing, if he does go back to Italy I hope he comes back for a warmup at Ironman before the MXoN. I'd definitely make the trip to watch him ride again in person.

I know this comment is going to bring an avalanche of down votes (hell, even I want to down vote it, and I'm writing it), but if Tony Cairoli (my all-time favorite rider) is currently being paid to be a "brand ambassador" for KTM, it would appear he could use some advice on how to do that, given the comments being made on certain threads, including this one.

So here goes.

Rule number one: don't make public comments that could, in any way, make the company appear cold-hearted, cheap, and/or mean-spirited, as that will make people dislike the brand, perhaps even to the point of wanting to boycott it. This result would be the complete opposite of what you're getting paid to do, so avoid doing it. Whatever it is that's pissing you off, say it behind closed doors and only amongst people who can force change and give you what you want. You're not a kid, after all, you're a grown man, and a very wealthy and powerful man at that.

There, I said it.

This whole situation stinks. Webb doing local races and collecting a salary, Plessinger seems more worried about his red neck reputation than results and you have Roger talking about how Cairoli "needs to be doing better" when he's not even getting paid. Pretty bad look for KTM.
Yeah, well said
KTM, fucked this up from top to,bottom. Would not of been to much to put a little effort in the AC situation, could of promoted this, acted like they cared and cashed in on. Tony and his family delivered , and KTM shit all over it
, Some real egos in that group, wow. Not to mention he your best fucking guy right now!!!

No surprise, Roger being an asshole again, he has to be the biggest prick in the pits.

YES! I for one really enjoyed getting to see the World Champ race in USA. TC is a super positive guy and it would be great to see him at more rounds. I'm just sorry I only got to see him in retirement and not WFO World champ speed. Amazing Motocross rider

I suspect that this isn't all on KTM. AC222 thanked KTM yesterday for their support. Im sure there are a lot of things we are not privy to including the possibility he is ready to go home or take a break. Who knows? I don't

If he really is headed home after the weekend...I hope they do a little something special on the podium for him. Just a thank you from the fans...maybe a gift card to Spaghetti FactorySilly . Let the trackside fans give him some love. I know I sure got a kick out of seeing him ride.

I made it my mission to go to Hangtown Motocross, so my dad and I could meet him and see him race! My family is from his town, so it was cool to talk Sicily with him. He and his wife, Jill, took more than a few minutes to talk to us. They are awesome people and it was treat to see him race. This is a big 2022 highlight. I hope KTM can find the cash to sign him for the remainder of the year. LEGEND!!!!

Grazie AC222!!!!

That is a really cool story!

Jill is very kind and Toni is a great guy. I remember the first time I spent any significant period of time with him. It was after the MXdN in Lommel which was his birthday weekend. Toni said to everyone during interview and via social channel, after the race everyone, you are all invited to my birthday at this bar in the town. To start the VIPs had their food separate but after a few hours, the party started, it was a blast and Cairoli was amongst it.

In my opinion, this was during the peak of his power. Celebrity never went to his head. He really is a legend on and off the track.

Bump this thread, Tony is a total badass! Love having him racing here and hoping there is a way to get him back for more. Thank you AC222!
