Are there any must-do mods or parts to the bike worth the money?
Did you guys feel anything by removing the filter screen inside the air intake?
Mine is currently pretty stock except for a gripper seat cover which is a must, and mx33 110 rear on the stock 1.85.
Currently have a bit over 18 hours on this bike and love everything about it, one of the best bikes I have ever ridden.
Looking forward to seeing what you guys modified to your bikes!
Suspension wise find a trusted tuner to get it set up for yourself. Ride engineering split clamps take harness out of the front end. Rep rear linkage take some harness out of the rear of the bike, and improves straighline stability, especially in big whoops. Also FCP motor mounts take some of the harsh frame feedback away, but also gives the front a much more planted feel on hard pack.
Initially had a small tip over on the right side and then later while washing the bike I noticed a small ding. I didn't think the mishap would've resulted in damage but thought perhaps it came down on a rock or something...oh well.
A few rides later and I'm now seeing several dings without any crashes or such. I'm guessing I'm striking the silencer occasionally with my boot? IDK...but I've never had this happen with any of my previous CRFs or other brands that actually had the silencer even more exposed. I'm stumped on what may be causing the damage.
Weren’t you the same guy earlier in this thread asking about different bar mounts to prevent the bars from twisting in a tip over?
Granted I’m not running the stock exhaust but I have no dented exhaust and I also haven’t twisted my bars this point but I’m sure it all can happen. Hope you figure it out.
Maybe dial it back a couple notches and try to ride a little cleaner and smoother.
The question I posed regarding bar mounts twisting easily was before I had ever swung a leg over the bike.
I'm not the guy that rides all out of control. I usually have a get off or 2 a season but I would think that's par for the course for most people that ride hard and put 60+ hours on their scoot.
Maybe I am whacking the silencer with my boot somehow? It's just odd that its never been an issue previous to this bike.
