Was thinking about replacing the Express van with a truck and small toy hauler a year or so ago. Now it’s not even a consideration and I have no desire to do anything with how expensive everything has gotten. Truck prices are ridiculous just like gas. FJB. Your the 30A state champ it’s rule you have to show up. Fleet farm west is having a gas war with quick trip. Ff was .30 cheaper than krist by the airport. Start a courier type of co . You deliver to the track. All expenses r paid for. Make a bogus Bol. 350 to start a LLc threw zen buisness. I did it on my phone super easy. Takes 2 min at fleet farm to register your buisness - ein # then your tax free on store purchases + you get the .4 off gas coupon. Ideas your selling a boot cleaner or used tires, out door sporting equipment, fishing lures, etc. record # of people started a buisness in the last yr. The irs is ovr whelmed.

We are cutting back. No more towing the hauler to any race over 1-1/2 hours away. Only one race weekend a month. Way fewer practice days at public tracks (have access to private ones). I ride my street bike to work every day the weather allows and leave the truck at home. Spent $163.50 to fill the truck Sunday on the way home from Hangtown. Almost $400 round trip just for gas. If it gets worse we will cut back more. This is a luxury sport, not a requirement. I might go insane w/o it but I might go broke with it.

Bikes in the pickup for practice days. Race trailer only goes out on district weekends. Still trying to get out every weekend but my love for riding is in a helluva battle with my hate for my sheetz statement every month. Diesel fuel sucks, and sweet baby Jesus non ethanol is more than race gas used to be a year ago. Ass clowns marching all off us right off the cliff.

I’m cutting back. Posted earlier that our riding group usually car pools to the tracks we ride that aren’t local. Gas in my area is now $5.09. Ridiculous. Two weeks ago I got a 5 gallon can of VP T4 and paid $109. I remember back in 2018 when I got my 250F brand new I was paying $62 for that same fuel. Kind of ashamed I just paid that much for it but damn I don’t like pump gas in my bikes. I think gas is being watered down or something. It doesn’t smell like it used to

$60 gets a little more than half a tank in my 4cyl Tacoma. If I drive slow that'll get to the track and back. Pretty ridiculous

I was looking at being able to start riding a bit more, but had to set it aside to focus on giving my son time on the bike instead. We have to put a hold on that now because we are over $6.00/gallon. It’s stupid. I won’t get into the cause of this, but no one is better off now than they were 2 years ago…

$170 to fill my ram 2500. Takes 1/4 tank to get to the track and back. That’s $43 in fuel to get to the track for a practice day, plus entry fee. I’m cutting way back, getting caught up on some house projects. Thank you to all of those who voted for Biden.

I'm staying local, within 45 minutes of my house. No more toy hauler just for open ride days, drive 55mph, and no more VP Race fuel for the bike. Not a lot of riding happening this year. I had plans to go from Illinois to Kansas for a special event in the fall, but that is certainly not happening. I even planned some Millville and Redbud track days, but that is also not happening. My Silverado 2500 gets 12mpg on a good day and with the toy hauler it gets about 9.5 on a good day. I raced this previous weekend and the turnout was not good. About half what it normally is for a lot of the classes. Fuel prices are killing everything from food to leisure. Thanks JB and Administration.

Gas prices are for sure limiting my riding. Not that I can't afford it, I dont feel like I should be spending $100 in gas and also pay 30-40 in ride fee for a few hours. Just not worth it.

I usually go to the not so great track that is only 35 minutes away now instead of the really nice tracks 2-3 hours away. It keeps me from actually wanting to ride a lot to be honest LOL.

Positive news is it keep the hours down on my new bike! (gotta think of something + in this crap world)

Same truck here wasn't so bad till gas prices doubled. Toy haulers for sale now. 200 bucks for an open practice day now vs 100.

Have to hunt for a station with diesel under $6.70 a gallon..luckily my 2500hd gets about 22-25mpg on the highway..not so much towing though..redoing a 40ft toyhauler right now, might end up keeping my 21footer for shorter trips..

Try half a bottle of VP Octanium (for Unleaded) in your trucks tank of regular 87 fuel. You can usually find it for $20-25 a can. ('m guessing this will cost around $12/tank...way less than the add'l cost of 91)

This is waaaay less than recommended on the can; but, we're NOT trying to get "8 Points" of RON rating, right? We're just trying to make your truck happy.

I've done this with a few vehicles and it makes them happy.

Agree 100%!!

I spent the Sunday/Monday of Memorial Day weekend down at Aaron Plessinger's dads track, East Fork MX, in southern Ohio, and it was pretty eye opening the amount of work it took to have an awesome prepped practice!! After Sunday's ride, 3-4 guys were working the track over with a tractor, dozer, and other heavy machinery for a few hours that evening along with a couple water trucks. And right back at it for a few hours in the morning before Monday's practice started, along with all the mowing/weed eating, and track watering on the property throughout the weekend!

I'm sure they were definitely were burning through a pretty massive amount of fuel for all that! Fortunately it had a pretty good crowd throughout the weekend to hopefully make it worth while! After seeing that, the $30.00 entry fee seems very reasonable, but would not argue if he had to raise it till hopefully prices settle down, if ever?

Yes, and I'm sure they do. You can run Red Diesel in anything that you aren't using on roads that are paid for by taxes.

Have cut back to practicing about every other week (from every w/e). Down to picking only the races we really want to do which equates to racing now once every 4-6 weeks. Unfortunately, gas probably continues to march higher.

You can't find a $1500 truck around where I live haha atleast one that will drive 2 hours round trip to the track

back in the early 90's i had a $50.00 datsun 521 truck that carted around a full pro circuit cr250 , bike cost a bit more than the truck.
