Good times at the race yesterday. Jake's ride from last to 3rd was impressive. Series can't afford another top rider like Maff getting hurt though.

Back home in California and it looks like he's done racing and just riding for fun. He's a mortgage loan officer.

Quebec has a lot of nice tracks. Would love to get St-Julie back on the schedule since Ulverton is no longer an option.

If the series ever gets back to 10 rounds, Quebec needs 2 rounds. I like Walton, but there's no reason they should race there twice this year.
Yeah I was there this week-end and had forgot how nice of a track it is. The giant step-up is a pretty nice feature. I wouldn't complain if they brought a little bit softer dirt in but whatever! I think it's probably harder and harder to make event happen there as the city has spread so much there are houses literally all around the track now. But I think it would be great to have to round in Quebec as well.

Saw on Instagram it's a separated shoulder. He lives here in town so it's a total bummer

See that dude over on the left with the "2" in his hand...? Watched him race just about everything a guy can race with 2 wheels...also, he was a helluva great team mate when Matt Goerke was at Kawasaki.

See the other 2 "kids"...? Watched them as they came thru the ranks and "made a name for themselves"...back when they raced for Kevin at MX101...Really, Really Good Times!

All these guys are sooo damn fast and are great for our sport.

That was worth my $6/month...

Thanks, MAV, for the reminder and all the useful info & links. I truly appreciate it.

Knew Ryan and his mom and dad pretty well back in the mid 2000's , when Ryan was on 50's / 65's.. They would bring him over to my indoor AX track quite a bit. Haven't really seen much of him locally over the past 5+ years. I don't think his dad is still with us , but he was such an awesome guy. His mom was super cool as well. Good family.

Gopher Dunes is aprox 100 mi east of Detroit. Yeah it looks deep there’s some tracks like that in Wi. So it would b possible to get ready and setup for it. I found the rule book but no info on what classes r run for amateur day. Walton is the Big LL type of race I think. You can b 14 and race pro .

Think I might have to figure out a way to do that...AGAIN!

Maybe on an MX101 Yamaha this time...

I tell all of the guys in WI/UP that race D16 that Gopher is by far the gnarliest track I’ve ever ridden. Dyracuse is probably the closest thing to it but nothing like Gopher.

Gauldy will be back for the East - he has his own program he needs to look after until then.

That was Jack's and my first studio call of motocross. Jack has other motosports background like drag and trucks- he grew up around Hi Point and I thought he did well Sunday. I have done some podiums but this was pretty fresh for me.

Jack and I met Sunday about 2:00pm (I had a race going on at our track in Walton so I didn't get there till 2) -- we shook hands and went live for our first ladies moto at 3pm, 250 Pro at 4pm. I didn't even see practice - which made me true "at home fan" calling the race. There is a lot going on in your headset, and with some of the big gaps a lot of air to fill. I think I said "OK" twice out loud to direction I was getting via the headset while I was calling some action. F'ing up names or saying OK is a slow motion nightmare... you hear yourself saying it and know you are saying the wrong thing as you blurt it out. I called Marco Cannella - who I have known since 50cc -Marcus. Crazy. Calling live action is a real trip.

The Jetwerx guys are adding the countdown clock, some graphics for half way etc. They kept it simple and focused on it working, live timing etc for round one before adding to many bells and whistles. The clock will help and some of the added information will make it better for viewers and us. They are going to use Kyle more during the race too.

We are calling the show just as you see it- watching on a TV. It is actually impressive technology.

Maverick was correct, the show was done from Sarnia voice, edited everything. They use pretty high end camera packs to send it back Sarnia. There more control in a booth for sure. I will admit it is hard to have a feel for the day/track vibe and pick up on the little stuff you see being at the track. But there are other quality control benefits that come with the way it was done. Both ways have advantages.

If you are interested www.rydetv.com, which is owned by the series, purchase the app. Cheap and simple. Goes right back into racing.

If you want to hit Walton National July 1-3.2022 www.waltonraceway.ca click WaltonOne. If you want to punch your man ticket, Gopher dunes is the following weekend. www.gopherdunes.com

For those that see the Gopher Dunes comments and think it's "too much for them"...?

Just go there and see it. It IS amazing. It's Matt Goerke's favorite track...it's SAND (Matt's a Florida Sand-Nut!).

If you ride sand? You're gonna love it. It's comparable to beach sand out here in the west.

The track is OWNED and OPERATED by Real Moto People.

See you there.

Marshal Weltin posted a story on Instagram asking if he should race Southwick on the Saturday and Gopher Dunes on the Sunday.

Off the top of my head, it's only been done a few times.

Not sure if it was Gopher's, but I think Goerke, Chiz, and Kiniry have all raced a US national on Saturday and a Canadian national the following day.

I think Treadwell might be on that list as well Mav.
Thanks again for the play by play, I was bummed to turn on FOX sports to watch the race and it was Nascar instead.
They originally failed to mention not all the races would be live on FOX.

I checked the TV guide several times during the week to see if Canadian Moto was going to show up, but it kept showing drag racing, horse racing and superbike racing.

I was hoping the guide was just an error/not updated, but that wasn't the case.

It's showing the same thing for this upcoming weekend, so I'm guessing that's one of the other 2 rounds that will be tape delayed.

Not ideal, but it could be worse.

Looking forward to seeing the new track this weekend.

What classes do you ride? I believe they have the vet classes as well as 250/Open Junior (like your C classes) 250/Open Intermediate, age group classes.

GDR Honda had an amazing 1 - 1 kickoff to 2022 Canadian Nationals and is making me think about doing some Canada traveling! Cool

Now if we could just find a Canadian distributor!

50+ 40+ 125 class. I would stick to the Vet classes there. So I could race 2 classes at least. What are the races 4 or 5 laps ? I have to check my passport I think it expires this yr.

My buddy is wrenching for him this season, I was texting back and forth with him last Monday when he was on Pulp with Dags and he had no idea what Pulp was😂 I was having a laugh because he really had no idea about the show and that he’s living the dream while I live vicariously through him.
