RJ did an excellent job. He’s an analyst, both RJ and MC have to tell new fans, fans that don’t know, and casual watchers that their analysis is relevant. How do you do that? Share your experience.

There is a line where as a color commentator you go from analyzing and offering experienced perspective regarding what is happening on screen to talking about yourself and your personal experiences excessively. Having a bit of experience in this area it is my position that RJ crossed that line several times during the broadcast and someone should let him know that respectfully. Again big RJ fan here and I think he’s well spoken and incredibly knowledgeable I just feel he got a bit carried away a few times that’s all.

Is anyone else a little annoying with Ricky Johnson on the mic? someone had brought it to my attention that he related everything during a broadcast to his racing and the past...

NOW, I know nostalgia is one thing, and talking about something from the past is common, or an example from the past is common but...

Does anyone else notice everything these guys currently do RJ constantly compared to "back when i was racing" im personally super annoyed with it now that someone brought it up, i can not get it out of my head and it happens SO frequently....
I still wonder what "Anyone else Notice Rick Johnson" and "Is anyone else a little annoying with Ricky Johnson" mean...
Before criticizing RJ for his comments, maybe you could work on your grammar a bit?
'cause reading you is a little annoying to me.

RJ is a fucking legend from one of, if not the, greatest eras of American motocross. ‘Nuff said.

Why did he repeat 2 or 3 times a shout out to christian craig’s dad mike who is super proud….
I thought they don’t even talk to each other and CC never talks about his dad

Ricky Johnson is more than a great racer and champion. He is a great person and family man. Not only is he knowledgeable about racing, bike tech, set up, motocross history.. but he is also very articulate and can engage in a variety of topics reaching way beyond racing.

The past is where it all came from. Doesn't hurt to have perspective some time to time.
If you actually listen, you might learn a thing or two. It wouldn't hurt.

If it bothers you to listen to a person of his caliber and his style.. well, there are other commentators coming.

As for the multiple shout out to Mike Craig. I think RJ is trying to mend the fences between them. Wouldn't you be proud is your kid was on the podium? Regardless of family situation?

Any commentator that can share some actual relevant knowledge (past or present) is ok to me. What annoys me are announcers who try and inject excitement into the race. No one is tuning in for the announcers! We're tuning in to watch the race so don't distract us from the race please.

RJ and MC did a great job! They worked together to bring great in site to the racing. RC should take note that neither talked down about the other guy.

I was a little worried about how all of this would mesh, but it was all just great. RJ, MC, and JT were enjoyable, knowledgeable and still clearly fans of the sport. As always, Weege glued it all together. I'm looking forward to the other legends in the booth.

He caught my attention with the young vs old bull analogy. I was wondering how that was going to end up

If there never was an RJ, would there have been an MC?

Think about it......

I've always wondered myself why CC never mentions his dad, Mike Craig was solid performer back in the day and rode for some of the best teams back then.

Because his dad is an addict... There's a reason Christian doesn't want anything to do with his POS dad.

I've heard some stories, who know if they're true, but looking at the fact Stingray ain't around the family probably says enough.

But hey, Chase is running a BFRC Shock!!!

MC was great!
The few times that MC has covered racing or Race Day Live, he has made the most inciteful race and rider analysis that I have ever heard. He talks almost like a coach breaking down the action.

Best announcing team we've had in ages. Loved his insight, he spoke to elements that only riders/racers would understand and that's something I've been looking for. The broadcast did not seem like it was dumbed down for the new viewer.

Yeah MC killed it , he made Mx sound super Cool. RJ did great also. RJ did Ax announcing and that’s not easy with the massive action. That was 20 yrs ago I thought RJ did Great. Both MC and RJ had to say Jett when Weege said Hunter for the win. Kinda of funny. I,ll watch the race again they did such a Great job. Cool to hear how excited RJ was on his favorite track Millville. And MC saying Southwick I didn’t expect that.
MC saying MX338 was his favorite was a shocker to me also… I remember him winning the first 125 Moto in 92-93? .. I remember thinking…. This guy does not even like outdoor MX and he just won a Fuk%@% Moto at Southwick!

I wonder how you all would do during the older days when we didn't even get to watch the racing and only able to listen on XM.
There's a lot of things I'd like better but knowing what we had in the past helps me appreciate what we have now.

i swear- vitards would complain about a BJ from a swimsuit model.

RJ did great. MC was great. The whole thing was great (I watched the YT link so didn't experience all the horrible streaming issues).
