How are dirt bike tires mounted at the factory?

I know how they are mounted with spoons, but is there a special machine that does it at the factory? I can't imagine that every tire is hand mounted, but I haven't seen anything that suggests otherwise.

With a tire changing machine, just like dealerships/shops use.

Interesting, that's the first time I've seen them used on a dirt bike tire. Do you know if those machines can mount a tire with a bib mousse?

I love mine and wouldn’t want to use anything else. Also, I run tubes.

I have a machine like this and tire spoons on a front tire is easier than this machine. Rears it's about 50/50 if the tire is warm and I am in the groove it's a little quicker with spoons. IMO

I’ve worked in a lot of shops with tire machines and I’ve never used on to put a dirt tire on. Spoons are typically easier, IMO. I do like the look of those rabacondas though, I’m just not gonna spend the money unless I suddenly come into a lot of mousse changing business

Unit sells something very similar to the Rabaconda for a lot less money.

I also, personally, use spoons and I change quite a few tires. However, if you were working at the factory and were on wheel number 2,375 on the production line, you might think differently. Keep in mind, the person installing tires at the factory is almost certainly not a hardcore motohead like you guys.

It’s a good point. When you install tires all day everyday you have to consider ergonomics and repetitive stress injuries. You pretty much need a machine for that.

I’m another one to at worked at a shop and actually preferred using spoons to change tires. Sure, the machine was less work, but by hand with spoons I could change tires faster.
