I’m ok if Barcia never gets taken out. It will make the day he wakes up and realizes he has been an idiot for a quarter century all the more powerful. If he starts getting taken out, the sport becomes what he thinks it is, which is crash up derby on two wheels. He is a champ at crash up derby while just being a top 5 racer. I said before that Barcia would embarrass Gas Gas this year. Barcia as a privateer would be good for the sport.

Not the best move for sure. ...but I respect his words on it in the press conference.

"We're racing for 3rd in the points. I wanted it bad and maybe it was too much but that's how I race so...."

It's an honest no f***ks given response....something we don't see much of anymore.


If Ando or Tomac had pulled that move for championship points/position, they'd be hailed as heroes. Just like Zacho was with the Savatgy take-out.

This sport is exciting with Barcia in it.

Barcia did what he had to do, at the only time he would have been able to do it, to try to finish 3rd in the championship.

If Malcolm would have gotten away from him after the pass (he was clearly faster than Barcia) Barcia would have had no chance of beating Malcolm in the points chase.

Was it a good move, clearly not, it was over the top.

Was it a necessary move for championship points, clearly it was.

I like Bam Bam's aggressive style, BUT that pass was way worse than the one he pulled on Anderson. He went in to just smash him, not pass him. There's a big difference between hitting a guy while making the pass, and hitting the guy to crash him and then pass him when he's on the ground. Barcia had malicious intent on that one, it wasn't good. Could have broke Mookie's arm and leg.

I hope these head-on passes get addressed for next year. Its the most dangerous pass in SX right now.

I 100% agree. I am actually a fan of Barcia and his tenacity. But that wasn’t good, and it needs to be dealt with appropriately.
