6 GP in, and Gajser already is already 1 GP ahead of 2nd place and 2 GP ahead of 4th. If it continues like this it's gonna be a freaking big gap by the end of the season...

Yes that’s a shame great talent and so much bad luck.... don’t think we’ll see HIM again....

Champioenship is already decided if gajser doesn’t get injured then He becomes champion.... the only rider who can make it difficult for gajser is Prado and that one is too changeable so far....the rest don’t have the talent to make it difficult for gajser

As soon as Herlings & Febvre got injured & Cairoli not lining up this year, I’d knew it would be a cakewalk for Gajser. Prado isn’t consistent enough. The Yamaha guys are up & down each week. Seewer hasn’t looked the same since the neck brace came off. The only person that can beat Gajser is himself.

I gotta say, Prado has been a big disappointment. To be over 2 races behind Gajser after a handful of rounds is not good enough imo.

On the other hand, it is cool to see Alberto Forato doing good right now. His better result is a 4th but he had a pole at Trentino (+ the fastest lap of the race in R2 there). Speed is there, keeps improving!

He might end up getting the most wins in a season at this point.

He already won what ? 5 of 6 gp's and 8 out of 12 races. 😬

His GP results since the season started :

1/1/1/2/1/1

And races results

1/2/2/1/2/1/3/1/1/1/1/1

His closest rival now is Maxime Renaux and he don't quite have the same results :

GP :

4/2/2/11/2/5

Races :

3/6/3/2/1/2/11/11/4/2/6/5

At this rate Gajser will get title before Nationals start in US and race that series also..

There's 13 more GPs after this weekend boys - more than enough for Tiga to have some sort of misfortune, though I absolutely don't wish it on him. It's MX - things can change in a heartbeat.

Bummer about Prado.

Here is an intersting stat about MXGP, the point scored after 6 rounds every year the last 17 seasons, starting from 2022 to 2005

Points / Rider

286 = Tim Gajser (2022)
226 = Tim Gajser (2021)
263 = Jeffrey Herlings (2020)
285 = Antonio Cairoli (2019)
286 = Jeffrey Herlings (2018)
234 = Tim Gajser (2017)
260 = Romain Febvre (2016)
259 = Maximilian Nagl (2015)
267 = Antonio Cairoli (2014)
280 = Antonio Cairoli (2013)
253 = Antonio Cairoli (2012)
249 = Clement Desalle (2011)
259 = Antonio Cairoli (2010)
231 = Antonio Cairoli (2009)
223 = David Philippearts (2008)
274 = Joshua Coppins (2007)
292 = Stefan Everts (2006)
251 = Stefan Everts (2005)

Last time someone started the season as good as Tim is doing right now was Herlings in 2018 or even Cairoli in 2019 (1 point less). Otherwise, you have to go back to 2006 to find someone (in this case Stefan Everts) that scored more points than Gajser in the first 6 GP's

No, I wondered if there was a hold up due to rain but looks like conditions are perfect.

Just watching the EMX Open race, I thought, Hey, Fantic could go for EMX series domination by getting a BRC YZ500** engine kit (it's 89 x 80, so under 500cc - the KTM etc kits are 89 x 82 for 510cc), have Jan work his magic on the 'tune', and put one of their riders on it.

I'd love a YZX - for the slightly wider gears - with a BRC kit.

Yoinks, Butron just had a moment Blink - not bad for a 107 year old ( Malin's estimation of his age) .

** EMX Open rules allow up to 500cc 2ts, with a 450CC max for 4ts. A bit of a reversal of todays 'norm'. Strange.

Not really a true Open class if there are cc limits .

What was going on with Elzinga in EMX250? Was looking competitive in MX2 at earlier races and today gets an average start in EMX and moving backwards in the first lap.

Indeed - but, most of us old blokes tend to call what was the 500 class the 'Open' class, when it wasn't.

Can't recall exactly, but for decades, we had an up to 1000cc Class under ACU (now MA) rules, as well as up to 500cc.

Its a tough class. I am more surprised by the lack of results of his teammates Bonacorsi and kooiker.
Bonacorsi was 4th overall last year and outside top 10 right now. Not sure if they have injuries or if there is a different reason.

Lots of rain overnight made the EMX Open Moto 2 a bit (!) of a mud fest.

EMX250 on now, Norwegians 1-2, Fantic 1-2, showing that a modified 2005 model bike can be quite competitive with 2022 model bikes, when it's allowed to race............. Whistling

Track should be good (well, better, but still bloody 'tricky') for the MX2 and MXGP races, if no more rain comes in.

Rumour has it 2 strokes won’t be allowed in EMX250 next year.

I'd not be surprised, ts17.

We can't have equivalency, so, returning to a 'handicap' class structure, is the cowardly / piss poor / f**ked way to go..........

Those two young Vikings would be winning today on 4ts if they were on them, they've no advantage being on 2ts. MX2 , and, MXGP - well, All major series should have equivalency.
