Some of you would say that it is easier to win with Herlings/Febvre out and Cairoli not racing anymore, but I just wanted to point out, at 25 years of age he is probably gonna clinch his 5th world championship in the last 8 seasons with 38 GP wins. He is building himself a very nice career, question is, do you think he can catch up to AC222 and SF72 stats someday ?
When talking about MXGP, a lot of people will refer to Jeffrey but I have always thought :
Jeff is the best rider in MXGP, Tim is the best racer in MXGP.

What's crazy is that he has probably crashed more than Herlings, but the dude appears to be made of rubber.

While a great rider no doubt, Herlings’ stats compared to others are a little skewed. He won two titles in 12 and 13, then raced MX2 again in 14, 15 and 16 which got him a shitload of wins and one more title. Prado for example won two titles in 18 and 19 and moved up early (in terms of age) yet was as dominant as Herlings was in MX2. I.e. had Prado spent the same amount of season in MX2 he probably would’ve had 20? more wins.

Tony has 7. Everts 9 I believe.
I'd say he'll definitely catch Decoster and possibly match Tony (that would be 3 more titles after this season). Right now aside from Herlings I don't see anybody coming up that is likely to beat him. I thought Prado would but doesn't look like it at the moment.
Maybe when TG is in the top 3 of all-time premier titles people will actually appreciate how good this guy is
Pit Row
Tiga is all of 6 weeks older than Adam C.
Gajser has now 4 World Championships, AC has the 1 US 250 Title.
Tim somehow has 'bounced' a bit better than Adam - though, Gajser Has had quite a few injuries, his most recent being that plated collar bone during last year's title chase.
It's terrible how things have gone for AC - with his intelligence and charisma, and, if he could have got the results his 'baby cheesus' expectations were expected of him, I think he could have brought a huge amount of attention to our sport. But, injuries have just haunted the young man. I hope he can come back, and remain injury free.
But, of course, we could dismiss both riders 250 titles as being 'nothing's, like a previous poster has suggested. Leaving TG with 3 450 World Championships, and AC with 'nothing', at the same age. Now that there's some prize idiocy........
The GP’s have been stacked with talent but now with guys retiring and other guys aging I don’t see talent coming up to challenge Gajser either but we never thought Tiga was gonna come on like he did in 2016 either so who knows.
So at 20 he already had an MX2 and MXGP title. Pretty crazy
If Herlings hit Gajser with a truck, Gasjer would get up and walk away , Herlings would have a dislocated shoulder from the air bag going off.
