Damn that brings back memories. I had purple Renthal "Ricky Carmichael bend" bars on my 99 kx80. The purple looks pretty killer on a Kawi.

There was once a Suzuki RM that had terrble graphics including a gawd-awful seat cover. Whistling

It would look AWESOME with that Renthal Purple Kit. It really would. Shocked

Why do I feel kinda hypocritical as I type that? Laughing

When Suzuki came out with that stock graphics scheme we were all like……what the hell? How does that make it out? Looks cool in retrospect but damn it was weird

I had one of these in 1991. Sent the Top End to Pro Circuit... It was an amazing bike, and it "Barked". Probably best 125 i ever owned.

Pretty strange timing for this to happen. I posted this pic up 6 weeks ago of a set of Twinwalls that I'd had custom anodised in the old silver/purple colourway that the teams ran in the 90s. Had the idea for years now and finally went for it.

Couple of NOS cloth barpads to top it off!

Purple didn't happen until the early-mid 90s. 1996-96 especially for the OEMs. Kawasaki's bikes had purple tanks, fork guards and radiator shrouds. Even Honda had purple at least one of those years.

I miss when OEMs went all in on a color like this - like plastic, seat covers, etc, from the factory to the showroom floor.

Bike graphics and colorways are so basic today. Honestly if even the race teams would be a little more creative with rim color it would go a long way.

funny how history repeats itself! Even the jet ski's were purple back int he 90's, being a little younger in the 90's I hated the purple stuff!

Not sure which vendor they are trying to use.... but, for anyone this may help, for either Parts Unlimited or Tucker tell your dealer to type "renthal purple" in the search bar on the dealer portal and all the bars and pads come right up. For PU, they are all in the Wisconsin warehouse and for Tucker they are all in Florida.

Wish they would have gone with your idea of anodizing the bar ends on the twin walls vs doing the center section!

Just got an email, Looks like my order with Motorsport.com will be delayed until early May. Just hope I can get them. Ordered the 604 Carmichael fatbar.
