I know us moto guys are cut from a different cloth than most other people. I can't be the only one with very specific moto superstitions, let's hear yours.

Here are a few mine:

1) Left sock on first
2) Left knee brace on first
3) Right boot on first
4) I hate drawing an odd numbered spoon, even if it's #1.

Whoa whoa whoa. It’s always the right side first for everything and goggles only hang on the right side of the bars.

Left side first
Bike goes on a certain side of the truck
If I get rained out, I don’t go ride somewhere else that weekend

Left side first. That's all for me.

Edited to add: Never say "one more lap".

I'll never race/practice on Friday the 13th ever again, not even joking.

To hop on with Afterbar: The minute you start saying "one more" you're done. Park it for the day.

This one. I also won’t ride if I forgot a piece of gear or if I have a flat or a bike problem before I get out on the track.

Totally agree, never ever say "one last ride" or lap or session, etc. Got bit twice doing that and learned my lesson.

Okay so we have:

Never say one more-lap, moto, I don’t care. Say two more then don’t do the last one.

Right side goes on first.

Red gloves are lucky.

Fist bump the guy next to you on the gate.

There’s so many more I’m gonna remember in time

Not sure this really qualifies as a superstition or not but...

Sometimes my Dad would have me get all dressed and stretch in the box van on the way to the track so once we arrived I was ready to jump right on the bike and go out. This always made me feel rushed and out of rhythm. Always seemed to ruin the whole day like I just couldn't get in my groove and rode terrible. I liked to get to the track in my street clothes, go walk around the track a bit to check it out, watch some other guys for a few minutes, then go back and get dressed and warmed up. Felt like only then could I really get in the right mindset and have a great day.

I wouldn't say I'm superstitious, maybe just a little stitious.
Only thing for me is goggles on the left side of the bars, lens up and facing in.

Left boot and left knee brace first always felt right, but wouldn't call it a superstition for me. For me I occasionally had a set of gear that I felt like I performed better in and had to use in certain motos/races, had a few sets that got a little to worn out Laughing

No black gear after two ambulance rides wearing black gear.

Some black is okay, just not the main color.

Whenever I do the zipper up on mine or my sons pants I always have to have the zip handle (not sure that's what it's called ha) flipped up and clamped by the strap. Really don't know how I got into it but can't risk not doing it now haha. Also I agree with the never say one more lap!

Never, ever, talk about anyone getting hurt, or the last time you crashed.

Slightly drop and scratch every "new" helmet.

Never wear a helmet that is brand new out of the box and hasn’t got a scratch on it, you’ll crash until you scratch it. Always put a small cosmetic scratch somewhere! I know quite a few people with the same superstition.

Gotta put everything "left" on first then "right." Like socks, boots, gloves. I dont consider it superstition though, more like a routine I need to stick with. If I mess it up I have to start over though.

I never say one more lap and I dont even let that thought cross my head when riding. I dont even really decide on when my last lap will be. It sort of just happens naturally now, Ill pull in when it feels right and thats it. Load up and go home.

I always say one more lap… didn’t know this was a thing
So much for that, there’s no way I don’t crash this weekend when I say it, I’ll be thinking of vital instead of riding for sure

Everything on the right side of my body goes on first. And I always get on my bike from the left side. (In a race I’d get on backwards if I had to, no superstition while in a hurry)

Tap the front fender in the same rhythm on the gate before every race. Never say last ride.

Dude now that I think about it, I ONLY get on my bike from the left side.
I bet most guys have a side but don't even think about it!

I’m not big on superstitions, because if you forget to do it, or can’t remember if you did, your ride is shot.

Everything goes on left side first.
Always drop a new helmet to put the first scratch in it.
Always put all new gear on and the rub dirt on it.
If I look down and my front number plate is slightly twisted, I have to make sure it’s straight before I can ride.
Never ever say one more lap or one more time.

I’m a hockey guy. And we are also nut jobs when it comes to superstitious. I have to put my gear on the exact same way. Left side first for everything.

One more lap, or one more session before we pack up. That has bitten me more than once!

I have also done: if it’s a struggle to get to the track (truck won’t start, can’t find gear, flat tire, tracks closed) just turn around and go home. But that could just be my laziness.
