Do they sometimes miss battles up front? Yes, but I feel it must be harder than all us Monday morning quarterbacks think it is. I don't know for a fact, but I think we are comparing the TV production to NFL, NBA, etc, which probably have 10x the production budget of supercross.
In life, you can always find something to be stoked about and you can always find something to be bummed about. I chose to find stuff to be stoked about, but that's just my choice.
I noticed that the world wide TV feed for F1 events is getting comments about a lot of these same types of broadcast production decisions/issues, and specifically about cutting away from live on-track action. F1 has huge budget and huge worldwide market. I enjoy watching many forms of racing and it's great that the TV coverage allows me to do that. Sometimes I do get the feeling that people making production decisions don't quite understand motorsports, but as you mentioned, I'm sure it's more difficult than all of us think it is.

edit - also there is far worse things in life than little Johnny going to bed a little scared... maybe it will toughen the little guy up. reminds me of when i was 5 and my parents would watch that show unsolved mysteries and it would scare the shit out of me sometimes.. I survived all these years after that just fine.

I said it in the other thread, but SX demographic is 18-35. Obviously the commercials are going to cater to that audience.

It's your job as a parent to shield your kids away from certain things, not the network. You could easily mute the TV or change the channel for a minute.

In comparison, my local news (9news) in Denver is just as bad on switching views, screens these days. I'm happy with what I'm getting. There's room for improvement, but they probably don't have nearly the budget for say like a NFL game broadcast. So be happy with what your getting as no live show really sucks! I hated waiting for next day broadcast. So don't be a karen/kevin and piss them off and ruin it for the rest of us.. LOL.

They have a lot of work to do but the frequent changes in format this year also lead me to believe they're aware of that. Considering the attendance in the stands I've been seeing, I'm really glad the coverage is as good as it is. We're not watching a replay two weeks after the event on MavTV, so there's some positives to be found.

A lot of the criticism is directed at the announcing, but that's really a preference thing. We have consistent scheduling, coverage of every session, live. The TV format of the coverage has improved SO much lately. The cameras, the quality, consistency, availability. They're definitely moving in the right direction. Personally I have my own complaints and opinions about commentary but I do remember it being a treat just to catch one or two races live back in the day.

I doubt that Peacock's feelings override their desire for income. They have their big boy pants on and can handle viewer feedback. Besides as long as I am paying for a streaming service, I will offer my feedback on Screetch AKA Will C. Even if her voice wasn't like fingernails on a chalkboard, her pieces are way too long and ill timed.

I think you are right.. it's not just Bondo and SX. it's broadcasting in general.

My commercial allergy became so unbearable that I completely gave up cable, then TV away.
Now hearing how even F1 coverage has the same issues...

I recall a long time ago, back when I was watching F1 ... ( they had petrol V8s )
I was in Europe watching the race live on TV.
I was swapping between channels... French, Belgium, Dutch, Spanish channels to watch the race.
the commercials were interrupting the action , so switching from different country broadcasts enabled me to follow through, just a different audio and channel logos.
Then I think they standardized it and every country had the commercials at the same time.

But I recall a great channel, Dutch or Belgian.. where they would SPLIT THE SCREEN IN HALF during commercials, one part live race the other part butt soap or what not.
The audio would switch to the commercial, but having half the screen with the live race on was freaking awesome.

Strange they haven't interrupted a commercial with another commercial inside the commercial... yet

You guys are just insensitive. The Craig family went through so much adversity having to move to Florida. They had to leave everything behind and go across the country to train at the goat farm. Imagine what it must have felt like to accept a six figure check and do that, how hard it must have been. And now Craig is redeeming himself after both the reigning champion and other teammate crashed out. It must be so hard on him and Paige mentally. I sure am glad they go into detail about it every weekend so I'm reminded by how triumphant they are.

It’s Carmichael. He just brings the whole production to a screeching hault with his terrible skills on the mic. I understand he won more outdoor races than anyone ever. Cool. But he has no business on the mic. He can’t go more than a few sentences without making a serious grammatical error, and basically has a 7th grade understanding of the English language. I can’t believe they fired Fro and kept his guy, just shows how out of touch these people are.
