Come on, it's DETROIT! Who the hell leaves a bike unattended in their truck in DETROIT? Might as well do that in Atlanta or Baltimore. Gone in 30 seconds. When we travel our sh!t is locked down tight, no stickers on the trailer, try to stay off the radar of the opportunity thief.
Sucks that it happened, but ya gotta be smart with expensive toys.
Edited - I also have the trailer and both race bikes insured, and a $5k rider for contents. All in there's $25k sitting there, and we are not a high budget operation by any means.

Exactly.
A local urban wilderness trail system, used by mt bikers, has become notorious for bike thefts.
Both off of the porches of surrounding homes, and off of the car racks at nearby breweries and restaurants.
Even at gas stations when going inside to pay.
And yet every week people post online, surprised that their bikes are being stolen.
("I only went inside for a minute")
Despite signs in the parking lots warning them of the crimes.
Leaving bikes worth thousands unattended is beyond stupid.

The line between feeling bad for someone getting there bikes stolen and saying thieves sucks and trashing someone saying it’s their fault for having there bike stolen is an interesting one….
I guess the only positive is that it wasn't any money out of his own pocket, easy come easy go, LOL!! Star racing is probably shaking their heads right now!

I would guess they still hold the title on the bike and have it insured.

Not saying it's the owner's fault.
But leaving anything of value unattended for even a minute or two, is enabling the opportunistic theiving bstrds who lurk around every corner these days.
Gotta love what he said about thieves and pedos being in the same bucket.

Doubtful, they have no reason to insure a bike they gave him.
This was just a charitable contribution for Star Racing to use as a write-off on their taxes that's probably already been passed on to the accountant!
Joseph, probably got the title and maybe one day will get a phone call from a police department with the trashed bike when someone was trying to find out if it was stolen when buying, and can get back what's left of it.

Shoot, I used to have to drive I-94 through Detroit to race in Milan Mi on Friday nights with my CR in the bed of my truck, I didn't even risk going in the slow lane.

Saw the bike in the back of the truck in a gated parking lot on my way to the stadium on Saturday and thought "wow that guy is brave" and was happy to see it still there the next morning. Guess the luck ran out, not cool.
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MX industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MX t-shirt.
With that being said, Big Joe got to see Detroit like a native. He got the full Detroit experience.
(Completely a joke, no need for anyone to get butthurt. There is no need for Ringo to efff right off.)
