Can't wait! Been wanting to go to Daytona since I was little so I'm flying down the thursday prior and staying for the week. Got trackside tickets and all.
Tomac better get it done while I'm there

Have been 2 or 3 times, IMO much better than a stadium race.

Would that mean that AP7 didn't race this year?

Tomac. If he wins this one, it's six Daytona victories, breaking RC's record. He's gonna be on the gas.

We had lunch with track builders Randy Poulter and Drew Spratt yesterday and they gave us a little tour. Track is looking really awesome. Couple of really cool sections on the far end that will probably end up having a couple different options for a rhythm through.

It does, but only if you put yourself in a great situation to use your long legs to go inside/outside, while hitting your marks, Really it’s a OOOOOOOOHHHHHH….must situation.

It would also get him to 41 premier class SX wins, tying him with Ryan Villopoto for 5th all-time. It would also put him just 3 wins shy of Chad Reed for 4th all-time. There was a thread about this earlier in the season, but it will be exciting to see if he can pass these guys ahead of him. If he continues to perform at a high level this season and comes back for 2023, he could very realistically get to Stewart for 2nd, which sounds insane but is true.

Perhaps I have missed it. Is RC involved in track design this year?

Yeah, he designed it. Been doing it for 15 years now.

Seems like one of the better daytona layouts since the speedway restricted area space.
Best one in years, IMO.

Looks a lot more like a giant SX track than years past. Maybe how well received the Atlanta tracks were had an effect on this design?

So I've never been to the Daytona supercross. Should I get the tickets on the track, (I think those are general admission) or reserved seats? I tried to get the Rolex lounge seats, but those are sold out. I've been to a ton of races before, but we have 2 women who have never been to a race coming with. Obviously track is probably a cooler experience, but reserved will have better viewing. Thanks in advance.

I work about a mile from the track and spend my lunch hour in the cell phone lot for the airport which is on track property. As of lunch time today most of the factory rigs have arrived and are lined up on the backstretch. As of now I'm scheduled to pick up my credentials to be a Dig Dug on Friday.

My favorite time of year!

fyi reserved tickets were 'sold out' for the last few weeks, but theyve opened up some more now. if i was you and wanting tickets, i'd buy now

for the difference in price ($45 GA, $65 reserved) , hands down reserved if you can afford it. for GA you need to be in a seat 1+ hr pre event, or you are going to be veeeeeery high or far outside of center views

trackside is fun to walk around on during practice, but its more so a novelty during the race. you are low, and standing all night on a 45' asphalt bank, and cant see super well. also it will be elbow to elbow packed

ive gone every year for a decade, hard to beat a reserved seat. watch practice from wherever, take your time walking around the bike week concourse at the stadium, walk across the road for dinner and take your time no rush to your seat for the race at 7pm...
