Thanks for the feedback. I will be primarily riding moto tracks. I am coming off a 17 yz450f so the sharp handling will be very welcomed. Before that I was on a 2015 kx250f and I really liked that bike and enjoy riding a 250 much more than a 450.

I really like the new YZ but hate the tighter rider triangle. I like a bike to feel roomier, if that makes sense. I felt like it took extra effort to go from sitting to standing.

Got my suspension back from FC. One thing that surprised me is they are running 110 sag. They also measure it straight up and down, so to 105mm back from where the seat ends.

Also, maybe I was lucky, but there was sufficient grease on the steering and linkage bearings.

I’m 6 feet tall and the Honda feels so much more comfortable. It definitely needs a revalve to fix the front end harshness. It’s not too stiff, it’s the rear shock loading too much weight on the front. FC is working on a link to fix this, and their revalve helps as well. Otherwise, I like the Honda much better.

Thanks for the feedback. Have you ridden the newer 250sxf?

Did they stick with 385cc?

I'm 6' and hover around 170lbs, but I have long arms and legs. My wingspan is 6'3" (should have been a climber I guess). I felt VERY comfortable with the stock handlebar mount (back hole forward facing) positioned at 2.5 on the handlebar guage. The only thing I did was rotate the brake/clutch levers down as I ride forward and elbows up as much as possible and I have long fingers. That being said I never really felt cramped on the YZ either, I suppose I just got used to it. The CRF is definitely thinner but again you adapt pretty quickly to the YZ and I have come to appreciate being able to grip the bike a little better when it's a touch wider. Tomac actually mentioned this in one of his interviews that he preferred the slightly fatter YZ because he could grip it with his legs better. I'm definitely not Eli but I too noticed that I could squeeze a little better with my thighs on the YZ. I also used a GYTR tall seat and found that the extra height was a little better. I would say they are very similar once adapted but I would still give the nod to the CRF for comfort.

360, but I went up a spring rate so it’s the same fork oil height as the thicker spring displaces more oil.

I might along with an FC revalve if I end up keeping the CRF but that is yet to be determined. I'm about to do some back-to-back testing against the 22 YZ.... I have never had the opportunity to do that and I'm really looking forward to it!! I've always been so jealous of people like ML who get the opportunity to test back to back and at least now I have a chance to give the 1 and 2 seeds a test at the same time.

Yeah, I rode my 2022 Honda back to back with my 2021 YZ250F, and that was a treat.

This bike interests me. I ride a 21 RMZ and from what I read it seems like this is actually similar but with better execution/better motor. I rode the previous CRF (modified) and wasn't super impressed and now my RMZ is modified so would love to spin one of these red machines.

I have a deal with them, but pricing is similar to Enzo: https://www.factoryconnection.com/Revalve-basicPricing

The manual that comes with the bike seems pretty abbreviated compared to the past, no? Even the 19' + '20 I owned was more comprehensive than this '22.

I don't even see the torque specs for the linkage and other routine maintenance items.

Am I missing a few pages or something?Dry

There are two manuals. The small one that you can also download and a bigger competition manual. Did you get both?

Yeah I went with the 20/21 torque specs until I purchase the shop manual. Pretty stupid that Honda didn’t even give us the torque specs..

Finally had a little time to work on the new bike this weekend. I am still waiting on my rims from Dubya, my Vortex ecu from XPR and my graphics. But got everything else done. But dang do these things look nice. Can’t wait to take it out for its maiden voyage.

Yeah can anyone find the torque specs for the shock and linkage?

I don't want to be that guy that tells a man his business, but that new chain looks mighty tight! The manual is confusing on chain slack, so I have been setting it to about 2.75" to the middle of the RIVET from the top of the chain guide, just behind the screw that holds it down on the flat part of the black plastic. This is what it was set to when I picked it up. I don't know if Honda does that from the factory (I would assume so) or if the dealer checks it.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I completely agree with you that the manual was a bit confusing there. My stock chain was actually very tight from the dealer too. Fortunately this isn’t set yet nor is anything torqued down as I’m waiting for my rims to show up from Dubya, once I have those with the new sprocket on I’ll set everything.

Glad you shared!

No problem, glad it's because you're waiting on new wheels! Have fun on your first ride, she handles/turns great...like it's attached to your brain stem. Now, if I could get her to feel a little more plush without a complete revalve and massage from Factory Connection... I'm 170lbs and a little slow on the speed side, so you'd think it would be pretty close from the factory for me. I feel it most when I land from a good sized double, even front wheel down and smooth on the landing. I'm also getting some rear end kick off the shock, so I'm going to slow down the rebound a little and see if that helps.

A few of us were confused as well (page 22 in this discussion). I think 65-70mm at the back of the chain guide (where the thick arrow is) is probably good. I would rather a chain be a tiny bit loose than too tight; too tight can cause motor issues.
