I like Webb, but this is not what I expected after 5 rounds completed. Zero wins for Webb. 6th in the points. 23 behind the leader. I think his title chances are over for 2022.

I think the top 4 will be 3 - 21 - 23 - 1 this year.

I do honestly think the bike has a lot to do with it. Marv, Coop, and AP all don't look good on the bike. They have only had a few moments of being competitive, but barely for one race per rider. Cooper has typically been a good starter and then is also good at taking that inside line and pivoting the bike in years past. He's not doing that right now that I can recall. Doesn't look comfortable on the bike. JMHO
Mookie is the best he has ever been (except in the whoops but overall he has improved a lot).
Deano is doing pretty good considering in what stage he's in his career. 9th in points when only one top rider is out is good IMO.
Plessinger and Webb are the two head scratching cases. Both have had one good result but otherwise mediocre results. Plessinger is a life-long Yamaha rider so i can see why it could take some time to adapt to the KTM and their whole program. Webb left Aldon so no matter what your stance is on Aldon and if he's good or not, that is a huge change in training program that could potentially be a part of Webb's struggles.
Anyways, Webb has to turn this around starting this weekend. He has lost too many points already and usually the guys that fight for the title start pulling away with consistent podium finishes and wins right about now.
Webb needs to start consistently having podiums and hope he starts winning when he gets to the east coast to have a chance. And he better hope Tomac forgets how to do starts again on the Yamaha or it won’t matter.
History has shown that despite his supposed shortcomings, Cooper will compete fiercely and win on any type of track; that's why he's a multi-champion. But we're definitely not seeing that right now.

I think Webb's new Personal Trainer sucks.
Remember last year when Coop Rog and others went on an emergency test bike session?
Came back swinging and won the title.
Maybe they should go back to the old frame cuz he sure doesn't seem the same guy.
This year he has consistently lost positions to Barcia Ferrandis and Kenny just inside the top ten. Last year Cooper could pass and drop any of them on the way to the front. If the bike were the sole reason for these performances then I think we’d see Webb a lot more fired up, but he isn’t.
On the other hand, his current results on the new bike aren’t really making for for good PR either 😅
Hence the departure from Bakers factory. Andersen got it back but took years. We will see if Webb gets sick of riding around in 6th or not.
