Is it just me or does roczen go to the outside alot when he has someone behind him. I definitely consider the last two weeks racing incidents but when you think of his battles with Webb he always seemed to leave the door open. Like tonight I don't understand why he went wide in the sand when the fastest line was the inside all day.

I think this is the third or fourth time Anderson has taken Kenny down and all of them have been racing incidents.

Last week Anderson took out Roczen in the main, this week Roczen hit Anderson in the heat race? My guess is a planned “our lines came together racing incident”

I don't think that was the case at all. Anderson definitely looked to have him cleared but just went wide because of the line at the time, but roczen should of taken the inside in that situation 100%.

My wife is a Roczen fan, she was yelling at Anderson for that move. Meanwhile I'm 10 beers deep laughing at Roczen leaving the door open for Anderson to come through. 100% racing incident that Kenny could have prevented by going the inside line

Inside was the fastest line all day?! Think you better go back and watch again….

Besides what was happening in earlier races, all the front guys were using the outside in the early main laps, except for Mookie who was going backwards.

And then Anderson made the move…..

Is it just me or is it the same riders every year that HAVE to take people out to get by? MC has 72 Supercross wins and never made contact with people. RC rarely intentionally hit anyone. RV, Dungey….. The greats do not have to punt people or take them out to win. Anderson and Barcia….just tools in my opinion.

Yeah looked like the sand was going away and they just came together, not intentional but having said that, probably avoidable. Anderson won’t avoid contact tho given the chance: if that was Eli or a bunch of other dudes, Kenny would have been still up I’d guess.

Anderson even admitted on the podium he straight up took him out. I get in this sport that contact is unavoidable sometimes, but the greats always figured out how to pass without cleaning someone out. Barcia and Anderson are just tools. I can’t respect either one of them. To many guys have proven you can win without taking someone out.

Outside line was working for some guys. I think when you're in the position Roczen was in you have 2 options:

Ride your own race and run what you believe are the fastest lines regardless of whether they are inside or outside, and hope that is enough to stay clear of the challenger.

Or start riding defensively, blocking, taking inside lines and 9 times out of 10 concede the position eventually to the challenger who will ride whicher line is faster.

Can't blame Ken for doing what works for him. In my opinion Anderson drifted outside when he shouldn't have. A racing incident sure, but Ando rides hard and you've got to cop the blame when this stuff happens. Fair credit to him though because during his podium interview he admitted it was on him and he wasn't happy with how it played out or how he was reading the track all day. Make of that what you will.

The easy answer I guess is don’t give those guys a gap to go for… I’m way more inclined to say shit happens on that one though because of the way the lines drift in the sand, but at the same time you’re right, it’s annoying as fuck.

Must be worse for the other riders, like why do I have to assume you’re always Gonna be a dickhead, but then we’re back to the first sentence. Leave Anderson, Friese, Barcia etc a gap and they’ll be a dickhead.

There is a great man on this site , that once said....

" I'm going to Kenny's tonight , because he always leaves the front door open ".

And he did.

I just think in that situation, leading early in the race with the pack right on me, I'm never going outside in a fast sand corner.. Especially a fast 90 degree sand corner! If you go inside no one is going around the outside of you! But if you go outside..
It's not a great look for Anderson but he probably thought that whoever was behind him was bound to be going inside if he followed Kenny outside.. So he couldn't follow and he couldn't brake cause, well it was a fast 90 degree sand corner!

Very unfortunate for Kenny though

Looked so much like the Ferrandis/Craig incident from two years ago.

I don't wanna say for sure cause I've only seen the angle once haha but it kinda looked like he was a line just inside the very outside line so maybe he squared a little accidentally.. Not saying it would've changed the end result though

Yes. Those 4 will always be a Dick. It just sucks that it’s the way it is. If we had a few more Westin Peiks to start swinging, they might knock it off, but when there is no accountability, this is how it will always be.

The thing is, for most of the day the outside was faster, or at the very least, not as mistake ridden as the inside.
All day guys going inside were washing the front and not getting through the section cleanly. The previous laps of the main, everyone at the front, bar Mookie, was going outside.

It was the fast line at the time, because going inside risked loosing the front or blowing through the corner, which is exactly what Anderson did.
You can’t criticise Roczen for taking the racing line, and you can’t criticise Anderson for going for it. However, it was a risky move and Roczen paid the price for Anderson rolling the dice. It doesn’t seem fair, but hard racing rarely is.

Really feel that Anderson has grown up and cleaned up his riding a fair bit. I choose to look at this last two weekends as racing incidents and not bone head moves like Barcia always does.

I know that this wont sit well at a american based forum where 98% of the members think that putting another rider on the ground is just aggressive racing.

But i would like to see a simular rule as the F1 driver has that if you do some stupid shit you get a point on your license, after enough points in a season you have to sit one race out. A rule like that would stop Barcias idiot passes.

Kenny always on the losing end of these moves. Everyone knows it. I know its not his thing, but wouldn't he be doing himself a favor if he parks a few people that he owes from over the years. Guess its already pointless being buried in points 4 races in but man he just takes it.

Roczen is doing laps and collecting checks on a factory Honda. When he gets a holey he’ll checkout and win.

He just got a second place start, passed mclrath for first and he didn't check out at all. Everyone was catching him in the lead pack.

It's the fastest when you have a guy right on your ass going faster. Common sense.

Yeah I'm in no position to be telling Kenny how to lead a 450 main event haha and I get that he was probably thinking of sprinting while he figured everyone else were probably having to deal with thinking who was behind them but I just feel like Kenny going outside gave Anderson an option he didn't need too

But what if he washed the front in the lead? Yeah pretty stoked I don't have to deal with that decision making pressure haha

I think Tomac, Ferrandis, Anderson and Webb will bang bars for every single place 16th or 1st. They’re animals. Roczen won’t do that but is still talented enough to gap and stay in front. That’s just my guess.

Roczen needs to be “more aware of his surroundings” second week in a row that another rider trying to make a clean pass almost gets taken down because he doesn’t have the rider IQ to know where the guy “coming from behind” is. Any other top rider in the track in his situation Would have known how to react. Choose a better line or check up just a smidge and it would have been a whole different outcome.
