If it was the old ridge line body style, he would be worth more.

Who cares what Matthes makes? He’s worked to get his own piece of the pie in this sport…good for him.
I think most people here like the fact Matthes is doing well.
Oh, I agree…and I do as well. I just don’t understand the curiosity or the criticism. I mean, nobody questions Tomac, Roczen, or Even older heads like Carmichael or MC on their accumulated wealth. Matthes was the pioneer in doing what he does, and is still arguably the best at it…so he deserves the bank. If you’re good at what you do, you deserve to get paid.

Net worth is a fascinating thing, but it means very little unless you factor in a person's liabilities.

Three examples:

1. You have assets totaling 11.5 million and liabilities totaling 10 million. Your net worth is 1.5 million, but you are feeling very stressed, because you're very "leveraged."

2. You have assets totaling 6.5 million and liabilities totaling 5 million. You're feeling pretty good, as your net worth, while still 1.5 million, is a much larger percentage of your overall asset/liability totals.

3. You have assets totaling 1.75 million and liabilities totaling .25 million. Like the other two examples, your net worth is also 1.5 million, but you are living like a boss, because no one has any real leverage on you. This is especially true in inflationary economies like the one we're in now, as your assets will rise while your debt stays rather flat, as banks want your business.

Just thought I'd add a little context.
His biggest liability is him running his mouth and Im sure that is a home office he works out of , which isn't worth much from what I gather

Ha - speaking of mouth running.

News flash: The worth of a money generating enterprise is not based on how much it cost to make the enterprise, but rather how much money it generates.

AFAIK he doesnt have kids

if you dont have kids, its very easy to accumulate wealth. Especially if you live in a dual income house
Not if you work normal jobs and race dirt bikes.

Googling “Someones Name Net Worth” is one of my favorite hobbies along with browsing celebrity homes on VirtualGlobetrotting.com

Believing the numbers Google produces is why humanity is doomed.
