ok ok I know we have these “Deep Field” threads all the time..
However it rarely works out that we have a lot of different winners over the 17 rounds.

I've got 5
Eli Webb Kenny should win most again
Dylan 1-2
Plus either AC Sexton or Barcia.
But then again there are like 5 more guys that wouldn't surprise me if they got one. Hopefully AP or Mookie can pull one off

I think this is AC's year to break out, most of the big players are on new bikes so this will be his best shot! Him and Kenny if one of them don't win the championship this season I don't think they ever will.

I've got high hopes for AC as well, but I think he has quite a few more chances.

I just know there's a combined 32 titles lining up at A1. 35 if you include Musquin's and Roczen's world titles.

I'll have to go with 6 this year. Webb, Tomac, Roczen for multiple wins and then 3 others will grab a win between Barcia, Ferrandis, AC, Sexton, Musquin, Anderson.

Winning titles is how people get 450 rides. It's been the same system for over 30 years. In fact in 85 they were also winning 500cc titles.

Props to Barcia for winning his first 450 SX in 2013 and his last (so far) in 2021. He holds the first-last record for active riders and being competitive for so long and is quite a feat.

I personally think the most interesting riders to watch will be both Marvin and Dylan. We know Webb, Kenny and Tomac will be there, but Marvin was also there before his knee injury a couple years ago. Dylan finally had his proper pre season prep (wrist injury last year) and he obviously comes in with a lot of confidence after an unreal outdoor season. I think these two are the only two guys who can go against Webb, Kenny and Tomac over a whole season.

Obviously on paper it's mindblowing to bet against AC, Sexton, Anderson, Barcia and more to win at least one of these but I'll go with 5 winners this season. Man the level will be unreal and I hope the field is not depleted 2 months in.

Webb
Tomac

I said over 5. Seems crazy but I just counted over 5 guys and didn’t see a way a few of them didn’t win one.

Dam it, stood up in the first turn. I can't even disagree as it looks like about a 3rd of the field is capable of winning. But just saying.

We talk about this every preseason.

Expected to win:
Webb
Roczen
Barcia
Musquin
Tomac
Anderson

Wildcards:
AC
Sexton
Ferrandis

By the time the season is done, there will be 4-6 winners, which puts the ‘22 season right in line with historical averages. This does not seem to change through the decades.

What we should be discussing, is how much faster the 5th thru 22nd place riders are these days. There is significantly more competition and talent in the field from first to last, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to produce a ton of different race winners.

Here's the thing with supercross......someone could get on a roll and win most of the races. There is often 1 guy that just has a leg up on the competition and emerges as the next guy. Could be Dylan. Could be Sexton. Could be Tomac.
