GasGas factory edition? What is Barcia riding next year?

Was just wondering..KTM and Husky guys get a new bike..will Barcia be restricted to a regular 22 model based mc 450 or will GASGAS do a factory edition? If he has to ride the current model when all the other boys get the new one..wouldn't he be a bit pissed off? Or could it be an advantage sticking with a well tested setup?
It would add up to a lot of factory edition bikes across 3 model lines if they did that 😃

Given hes riding the very last of that generation bike, he has the best of the best, the most knowledge of that platform possible. I see this as a great thing. KTM/Husky guys will have 6 months max on the new bike when the gate drops.

Surely they could stick red plastics on the ktm factory edition and still meet the rules?

That’s what I would do anyway to keep the interest in Austrian bikes year on year.

That’s kinda what I figured too since GasGas added models to their ‘22 lineup. But I’ve been wrong before 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thats irrelevant, hes a Factory GG rider, not a HQ or KTM factory rider, so he'll ride the latest that GG can offer.
Whats next- KR getting annoyed because he knows HRC have got a newer better bike in development in the factory but he's not yet allowed to ride it??

I think perhaps Barcia not having a brand new, relatively untested bike to start the 2022 season on might be a real advantage. He's had a lot of laps on the current GasGas machine to perfect settings and tweak what was lacking...whereas some of the other teams might not be at the top of their games come A1 gate drop. I hope Justin does well...after winning A1, of course.

Yeah if I was Barcia I'd be very happy to let the KTM and Husky develop the bike and get a good baseline for when he hops on it next year. Thousands if not tens of thousands of manhours go into fine tuning and looking for good baseline settings in different conditions. The current gen bike clearly works super good as is anyways.

Was just going to post the same thing…that appears to be the new frame and swingarm and is definitely the new motor…GasGas works bike….

Cooper rode the new bike for the first time back in 2019, theyve updated some stuff but he started riding and testing it years ago
