I really didn't like the NBC coverage that much.

What you guys don't get is that it's probably the first time in history that the coverage actually showed the one battle that meant something and stuck with it. I agree that the producer missed the finish, but up till then it was fucking awesome.

I had a friend over that use to go to USGPs at Carlsbad and Plymouth Hangtowns...

I was showing him on the tube the legendary "LaRoccos Leap" when RC called it Lucas Leap...Like you DPW...WTF?

Money talks I guess. Still think it's jacked up how it will always be LaRoccos Leap to the fans of Mich/Indiana/whole USA.

unless they do picture in picture it's the only choice. You cant skip the winner to show the battle for second. I do think its odd they never showed it after the race though.

It will always be LaRocco's Leap, but just as baseball and football stadiums need to help subsidize the events held there by branding their titles, making "Lucas Leap" out of LaRocco's Leap doesn't change the fact that it will always be LaRocco's Leap for motocross fans, and supercross fans will always call it "Anaheim Stadium" whether it's Edison Field or Wells Fargo Stadium or whatever other sponsor it once had... Sometimes there are compromises to help get things like live network TV and internet, including the move to Saturdays, which in hindsight wasn't the end of the world after all.

They can call it whatever they want as long as its on tv. I would like to see a little more of the first moto highlights.

I hate seeing the sport sold out... but if you sell out to better the sport then... I'm all twisted inside... It sucks but part of the business... But I did cringe when RC called it Lucas Leap... Like Lucas needed any additional coverage in the broadcast...

Anyone actually run their stuff?

But if it is down to losing the sport or losing some nostalgia, I will take losing the nostalgia.
