Hammer, no one can doubt YOU RULE!

I'm not going to slag on the OP, but listen to music while riding MX? Anyone that does that has my respect and more talent in their clutch hand than I have in my entire body.

I've never had the desire to listen on track, but have done so on extended rides in Costa Rica. Dirt roads + dirt bikes + reggae music = zen. I have Shure SE215s (Amazon) and would just run the cable through my shirt to my phone in my pocket. They also have bluetooth versions now. The nice thing about these (or others of similar design) is that they are basically squishy, foam earplugs with holes in the center for the music to come through. I like wearing earplugs when riding anyways, so these are perfect for me.
It was the summer of '05...

6 days 720+ miles of single track and jeep roads high in the Rockies 9000' to 14000'.
Lake City area, Boundry trail and dropping into Crested Butte...and all those breath talking vistas in between.
Enhancements provided by John Denver's Rocky Mountain High playing out in song and in living color, that and my Humboldt Buds!Woohoo
...ahhhh....no doubt I was in a very special place...Friends around the campfire Everyone high!

I can still see, smell and taste it. Sure to this day to drop my blood pressure when called uponCool

I’ve talked to a few people that have done it and they say it relaxes them. Idk if I’d be able to. I like hearing everything that’s going on. Maybe I’ll try it one day. I like listening to music before I ride though!

I used to listen to music on the way to the track but never on it.

Thank you. I usually don’t do it on the road or MX track where I need to hear other bikes, I usually do it on trails or in the desert.

Its surprising but you can still hear your bike pretty well, atleast for my bike, but it can take edge off and make your ride seem smoother

I use wireless earbuds when practicing at my home track. I have so many hours on that piece of dirt that the music can give me a rush and put me in a more aggressive mode. Also gives me an idea of ride time like push myself hard till the end of this song. Actually a lot of times I wouldn’t be able to tell what songs played while I was out. One thing that it really helps me with is feeling my bike. I can still hear it but with less bike noise I tend to feel little quirks and shift points instead of going off the sound. I really thought I would hate riding with music but it’s added to much to my riding. Now on another note I would never try this while racing and not sure I would even try it at a public track with other riders.

Can anyone recommend wireless earbuds to wear that can fit without causing issues in a helmet? Noise cancellation would be preferable.

Only for long trail rides and solo practicing.

Do those earplugs play distracting noises?

I don't think I'd put one on my MX helmet but for the street I use a Sena 10S. It has speakers that are velcro'd into the helmet along with a microphone (if you need that functionality). You can control volume and skip forward/back on the unit that mounts to the side of your helmet and it pairs via bluetooth.

I use a Cardo unit with my iPhone in a small tool pack. I can listen to music, podcasts or make a voice activated phone call (especially if I crash and need help if riding alone).
