My brother's friend's neice's boyfriend told me that Kawi actually paid for the team to switch to Hondas so A-Ray would quit blowing up green bikes and making the KX look unreliable Laughing !!

Swap show kinda sounded like schock was doing a deal with them.

No shot on switching teams mid season.

Pretty cool to see Storm Lake Honda getting some legit riders. I grew up buying my bikes from them and they are good people.

His reach on social media and YouTube far outweighs his results and the results of many who beat him. Some of SGB sponsors want AJ there badly, and they’re helping pay the bills. On top of that, AJ and Jason from SGB have worked together for years now.

True, I guess there is lots of time to vlog at the truck when the main events are going

At the end of the day, he makes a living on and being around dirtbikes. So sure, let's bag on that...

I mean if we’re in the game of just hiring YouTube stars to hang out at the team rig every weekend why isn’t anyone picking Buttery up? He’s made the same amount of mains as AJ has the last two years.

Not sure about the hard stance a lot of you have that you only employ a racer who can win, or purely go off race results. That said, have AJ race Buttery for the spot on the team, see how close it is.

Good thing you guys aren't making the decisions because that's not how it works for every team and every signing.

So its just like F1 where some drivers buy the ride with their private/ favourite sponsors.

If you are going to say they shouldn't hire "so and so" at least offer up who you think would be better in replacement....

I'm not an AJ nut hugger by any means but who else is a team of this level supposed to hire that is so much better than him?

SX Only? I'll throw Cole Thompson's name out there.

But, AJ doesn’t really make his living from the team/racing. There’s not the salary there to support Cole if he were to replace AJ per say.

It has been said a few times elsewhere. AJ brings more to the team, with all of his riding schools he has a pretty big following. SGB owner said on pulp that AJ sells tons of suspension work for him

To be fair the question wasn't about making a living. It was who could the team hire that's better than AJ.

I can't speak for Cole, but I would think if everything is provided and he's making purse money and contingency, he might be interested.

He could then come back to Canada and make money during summer.

I think he's looking at racing SX next year.

Just a thought.

Yeah but..... if the salary requirements of the rider are out of the Teams reach then it's not really realistic for them to hire that person is it? Thus not worth saying.... "They should have hired so and so instead" when hiring that person isn't reality but pure fantasy.
