Well, it's my thought about it, yes. But honestly, not too far-fetched in my opinion.

Canada made it to Italy. South Africa did. Venezuela did. Even Morocco with 0 resources or MX-heritage. To blame the no-show of USA (and the European AMA-riders) exclusively on travel restrictions is just a lousy excuse. Just come clean and state that the teams don't want their riders to go. Just like the teams of Renaux, Geerts, Febvre, Gajser,... have done (but for another reason because the championship is barely halfway). That's a real reason.

The Tallest bloke out there, with the Tallest Start Blocks.Woohoo

As weird as it may seem to some, I can see several reasons / advantages they could present for Shorty.

All of the favorites on the wrong half of the starting gate. Very short start straight, followed by two very narrow corners. Not that it matters for Vialle Laughing

Only Denmark got a decent spot.

Cairoli riding with the number 46 this weekend at home soil, same number as the other Italian legend Rossi.

Both also will retire at the end off this season.

This just give some goosebumps, hopefully Cairoli is good to go after last week and comes out firing.
