What coty is doing is very impressive. But I think it’s a bit of a stretch to call him a title threat already

He said its what Honda wants him to do. Im not sure if that means factory Honda and he'll be with the lawrence Bro's or if it will be another satellite team.

If the FXR/Chaparral Honda team goes away SOMEONE needs to give this kid a ride. Title threat in the 250's? No. Weekly Top 5 threat stealing a podium spot on occasion? Yes. The ceiling? Who the hell knows. It would be a shame to see all the progress he made this year turn into him racing out of a sprinter van.

If it’s a good bike he’ll be legit. He races 450s because it’s too expensive to build a competitive 250.

All he said was he had been hearing that the team may not be coming back. He really didn't say he knew anything official but just rumors.

If ML's team stays around, I could see having him race a 250 in SX (1/2 the series is cheaper than the whole series), but I'd really like to see him have another go on a 450 outdoors. The kid's been killing it this summer.
