Just buy some Mechanix Wear gloves. Half the price, 5x the durability.

You're welcome.

*This advice does not apply if you need to be trendy and have every piece of gear perfectly match*
Good idea, I will give this a try…probably sell these at Walmart👍

While we are on the subject of gear… how about somebody make a pair of gloves that last a couple motos….not sure if my hands have grown to giant size but every glove I try on is tight, I have to order XX large just to get them on …
Alpinestars Techstar gloves wear like iron and fit better than any glove I've tried. And I've tried a ton of gloves.

Remember One Industries, Alias MX, & No Fear,. They had to fold because of "too many gear companies". Well here we are again a few years and Leatt adds itself to the list now? I'm pretty sure the industry has added over 6 companies in the last 10 years. Is history going to repeat itself and multiple companies crumble soon? I think more than the main 5 companies was too much extra bs out there.

The only companies people currently remember:
Fox, Thor, Troy Lee Designs, Alpinestars, Seven MX

The rest are junk.
Well, you are a bit off in your historical references.

1st off: James's Seven MX is one of those brands that came along in the last 10 years & I'm a fan of what he has done with that brand.

From their web-site: THE BRAND Seven – The next level in athletic performance. Founded by American athlete James Stewart in 2013 to take athlete apparel and protection to heights never before reached. (Hi Roger! Wink )

Uh, dude, Alpinstars gear? Hello? Johnny come Lately? Boots...sure...for years! Btw, the new 10s are awful. But, that gear is VERY "new".

2nd: "Why" or the actual cause/causes for those other brands failing is far from the reason you're claiming. Yup, you are WAY OFF on that, too.

3rd: Some of the most popular brands that people "remember"...? (People that actually "remember" the legacy brands)
JT
Yoko
Fox
Sinasalo
Answer
AXO

4th: Your list of gear co's that are relevant (implied) is also waaaaaay off.
So, let's go with what I think you are REALLY trying to say...
"Gear brands that people KNOW" & without the stupidity of your "the others are junk" comment:

Troy Lee Designs (the gear I wear; because, when a man wears gear, a man wears TLD)
Fox
Fly
Thor
O'Neal
ShiftMX
FXR (Canadian Sno-Sled brand that''s been doing a lot in MX lately)
Astar
Seven
Leatt
FastHouse
MSR (An RMATVMC house-brand, now)
Answer
Moose Racing

What's that?
14? (And I'm sure I'm missing a few)

So, to recap: those other brands failed; because...well...they failed. Period. Shit happens. A LOT of companies fell after the financial ruin of the early 2Ks.

Yeah, yeah…you and your TLD gear. 😂

And that KLR is as adventure as they come…as soon as I get tired (too old) of trying to go fast on dirt bikes, Adventure riding is in my future…and a KLR will be my first adventure bike…and I get more excited about that chapter of my life every year.

I've gone over 90 mph off-roadtwice in the last few weeks...

1st: at the Vegas to Reno race on the XR650R...piece of cake. Hell, we won! (Over 50...old...slow...FUN!)

2nd: last Friday on my KLR up near Stonyford...Scary as FUXX!!!
The stock tires and suspension were a wallowing mess ESPECIALLY when decelerating from hi-speeds on gravely dirt roads goin' into turns...WHOA...she's A LOT of MASS wallowing & she requires a gentle touch. I've got some GoPro I need to download...Flat Tracking a bagger...INVOLUNTARILY...sort of...
Silly
So, the point, you "think" you're gonna slow down on an Adventure bike, right? Well...uh...
Good Luck With That!

Ha! And you make a valid point…Maybe I should have said “racing”…when I get tired (too old) of racing, an Adventure bike is in my future. Lots of high speed fun to be had on an adventure bike.

I had a couple of “Go the Rat” vented jerseys around 1984-85, from Australia. Never had the pants.

Speaking from experience from here in Australia, it is Atleast 15 year project to gain the trust and respect for your products and show your dedication to your product and the industry.
With my 2022 range being my 9th year here, each year we continue to develop the product function and fit, all the tiny details, I am very excited to release the new range in the coming weeks.
It also takes time for people to know and learn about the brand and that it is your full time job, not just a side hobby that could be gone soon.
It takes a long time and a lot of work, it’s incredibly rewarding getting to work with great riders and meet amazing families across Australia and the world!

I look forward to Australian Motocross, Supercross and off road racing hopefully resuming back in 2022 as it should !

CanvasMX will be the one that never dies out because they can do what the “normal gear company” can’t… fully customisable gear either via their design configurator on the website or there in house designer… plus the new canvas range is dropping very soon.

The OP states that No Fear and Alias folded due to "too many companies", an example that seems to reject its own premise. Since Alias and No Fear gear were both operated by Jeff Surwall, it naturally follows that if No Fear folded due to "too many companies", he wouldn't have opened the next.

I see FXR all over our local tracks now, I don't know about highest revenue (Gotta be Fox) but FXR is up there. I haven't been a huge fan of their designs, but the gear is really well made and Keefer's line looked really good. Seems like FXR pumps a good amount of money into various moto media so they're cool in my book, if the designs suited my taste better than I would have no problem giving them my money.

Another thing I would like to mention, that perhaps the OP is over-looking....A lot of the smaller companies are doing a lot for the privateers and lower level racers. They might not have the bank to fund a Factory team effort or a big name guy, but their efforts are sometimes going to helping out the guys who are struggling to make it to the races. And I think it is cool when some of the lesser-known brands target that area of the sport. Everything helps. So like mentioned by many people in this thread, it is good to have options and different brands doing different things.

All I know is that as big a Fox guy as I am that No Fear stuff in the early to mid 2000s was pretty awesome stuff, visually anyway.

Alias Gear was Legit, and it lasted... It was most likely their "Direct to Customer", that was most likely the cause of their demise. When no one is pushing your gear except for your website, it makes things much more difficult. No dealers could carry the product, and no "Tucker Rocky's", "Parts Unlimited" or "WPS", pushing your product...

Just my 2 cents, but I loved, and still have a lot of the gear...
