Reed went from 2nd place in 250GP/MX1/MXGP/whateveritwascalled, to 125 east. If his ego could handle it Prado should be fine.

Why does he need to be on a 450 in the US? The kid is still only 20 years old. Enough years off 450 racing left in his career. 250 SX would be a great starting point right.

Remember Langston and Townley they did the same thing and won races/titles.
Because he would be racing against Ferrandis and Tomac.. not kids just from Lorettas.

Why racing the 250 kids when he can directly be winning the nationals and so on beating Tomac, Ferrandis, Webb, Roczen... He prob would need a year to be a contender in SX. I don't remember Langston and Townley being 3 times world champion at the age of 18 and be battling for the main championship at 19. We are talking about one of the raw talents as Herlings, Roczen, Jett... Prado won't risk his life racing 250s in USA IMO

What makes anyone think he couldn’t get a 450 ride in the US? Bye Marv.

Seems a lot of people forgot reed was on a 250 before he came to the US and got on a 125(250f)…

Prado is a top rider but he is not the new Roczen or Herlings!

Wrong, two time world champ as a teenager and in the hunt for his first MXGP world title at 20 with very stiff competition. The kid is very, very special. He’s a generational talent just like JH and KR - but a totally different rider to JH, more like Everts - very smooth, very technical and very precise.

Problem with Mitch is that he got his own way of working. Low base income but the bonuses are crazy. In the past riders took such a deal because you knew he had the best equipment and if you believe in yourself it's a logic bet. Now there are multiple brands who have equipment that is equally as good if not better. So he's working himself out of the market.

Nobody has been a three time world champion at the age of 18. Prado has two titles, if he came and I doubt he will it would be cool to see him do 250 SX and 450 MX. He could certainly compete for wins immediately in 450 MX but I wouldn’t say he would be the favorite.

I cant believe Prado isn't on a good wage like some of you are saying.

That was the case maybe 10yrs ago….Mitch pays the same as others now…the problem is Kawi doesn’t pay the same for it’s amateur riders as others so he loses riders before they turn pro…the latest one is Chance Hymas…

Left is Brazilian Enzo Lopes, right is Italian Riccardo Lauretti. This was the podium of the 2011 65cc Junior MX World Championship.

I dont know who they would drop, but Prado is better then anyone they got. Getting Prado means getting a championship contender for the next couple of years

Soo Tim Gajser is going for title number 7-8? Wow, too bad Joel Robert, DeCoster, Mikkola, etc couldn’t race for world titles on 65s and 85s. Seeing as those titles count as much as a 500 World Championship Grinning

Thats the thing i was thinking... i think the team only can have 3 riders.

One thing i was thinking to is that if his manager went to talk with other its means that Prado really wants to go on another brand.
Maybe he thinks thats he isnt gona be the number one guy at ktm anymore.

De Carli will be switching to Gas Gas for 2022. Prado will be Racing MXGP and Guadagnini the MX2 Class. Future of Cairoli still unclear, as he is still deciding if he is doing a Full Season or just some selected Events.

Prado has fysical problems, in the 250 his gape was enough to win, in the 450 after 25 min he collapse every race, he won in Latvia because of the broken shoulder of Herlings and Herlings felt the last round otherwise I think Herlings had a very big change to catch him.
I don't think it's a great idea for Prado to go racing 450 in the US with the moisture and heat, he is originally from northern Spain where it isn't hot so he is not used to it naturally.

Do you follow MXGP?
You know that Prado is suffering from post-Covid complains?

What if for 2022 KTM decide to keep Musquin with a SX only contract, then give the 450 SX-F to Prado to run the great Outdoors?
Perfect win/win situation, if you ask me.
Would help the spaniard to take enough time to adapt to Supercross for 2023 season!
