Not to derail the thread, but do any of you on here know Jerry Randall? Owns Valley Motorsports in Northampton, MA. I heard he got torn up pretty good road racing a couple months back, wondering how he’s doing. He’s in his 70’s so presumably any high speed wreck isn’t great
Three weeks ago this is the info about Jerry I got from the parts guys at his shop.
Jerry has been moved from Boston to back around here to a rehab place, He calls the shop once in a while to see whats going on and they said he sounds pretty good most of the time. They have him sitting up and even standing a little but no walking yet, He has to get stronger because of muscle atrophy. His shoulder will need surgery in the future and maybe a few other things need to be fixed, I forget some of what he told me, It was a long list of injuries.

Today when I stopped in to pickup some parts they said he will be going home soon, the main holdup is in home care is hard to setup because of lack of healthcare workers.

Jerry is one tough guy, I'm sure he will recover fine, It will just take time.

Remember Pete from when i was a kid racing at Winchester, southwick and Jolly Rodgers. Pretty sure he was the only dude who ever won a race on a Cannondale Smile We would pass his shop on the way to practice at Crow Hill after school.

The world lost someone special when it lost Pete. If you didn’t know him you truly missed out. Thankfully he posted on here a lot so even if you didn’t know him personally you still got to see a bit of his glowing personality with his posts. Lol. Pete was old school expert moto, the kind of guy that told you bluntly what he thought of you or he just didn’t talk to you. I was lucky enough to have earned his respect somehow, not an easy feat for a “woodsbooger” as he so often referred to us woods riders. I beat him once, ever, in 1 moto at Southwick. Back at our pit he rolls up, pulls his helmet off and says to me, “I can’t believe I just got beat by a cancer patient”. LOL. For the record, I have never had cancer, I’m just skinny so he’s always told me I “look like Jeff Stanton with cancer”. Anyway, I could go on and on with Pete stories but I won’t. I miss him already and can’t believe this is real. He went the way he would’ve wanted to, just far too soon. Rest In Peace you grumpy old man, I’ll see you at the finish.

Pete was 1 of the few people i almost always stopped to talk to at the track. He will be greatly missed along with his wealth of moto knowledge.

That was so Pete. He was a front stabber and not a back stabber He told it like it was whether you liked it or not. I knew we'd be great friends when we first met back in the early 80's. He took me to all of his top secret practice tracks and we'd all go back to his house and his mom would cook us dinner. Some of the best times of my early yrs of riding were with him. I miss him and can't believe that he's gone.

I didn’t know Pete but I’ve read enough of his posts on here to know that he was a guy I would’ve liked to hang out and have a drink with. His bikes always looked on point with a retro flair as well. RIP Moto bro…

I called Robby on Sunday night to tell him about Pete and he was floored as were his parents. They loved Pete and I was so happy today when Robby mentioned Pete on the podium.

I used to spend alot of time hanging around in Pete's garage. I met him at a track down the street from his place we called "Three Tree". He got me into racing NESC and I would go to the races with him. He used to call me trophy boy when I started winning in the novice class. One year we decided to get sleds and start racing snowcross (definitely harder than it looks). We were in upstate New York one time and he fell off his sled and was run over while racing. It broke his pelvis so he was stuck for sometime in the hospital.

He is definitely a great person and would do anything for you! Pete will be missed!

You Would be a well off person if you had $1.00 for each Person that walked through Pete's Door on Friday afternoon looking to get something Fixed or put back together For a Saturday morning Moto, that made the line that weekend.
Pete was one of the things that forever brought me into the Moto world and made me believe in it's mojo.
The Blunt talk and hard exterior covered a guy that had a soft spot for a kid pushing shopping cart's or mowing Lawns for entry fee's, He was and will always be Moto to me !!
GOD SPEED My friend #24

Wow. Just now heard about Jerry. He had a bad wreck in a hare scrambles back when I was in high school. Went to school with his daughters in Amherst. That was about 45 years back… great motorcyclist he….

We did a parade lap yesterday at Central Village for Pete and it was awesome to be involved with and to see. I couldn't find a decent old Pete's Cycle & Sled jersey in my collection to wear so I had this one made. I rocked the Collins 24 jersey all day. I hope it made him smile up there 💔😁.

Had roughly 1000 attendees at Pete’s services last night, it was awesome to see so many. There were lots of great old racing pics and trophies as well as his latest bike. This was too cool of a pic not to post it, Pete in qualifying at the 1990 Foxboro Supercross. He didn’t make the night show but even just having the credentials and balls to try will forever have him secured in the badass category. Godspeed Pete.

Years ago when Pete24 posted photos of his '89 KX inspired graphics on his KX450, I had to do the same with my '12 KX450. Fast forward to my recent 2003 KX500 build, and it also has '89 KX500 graphics. Pete was an inspiration and from my interactions with him and from what I can gather here, he is someone that will be deeply missed. Race in peace Pete24.

What a huge loss. Pete was such a great dude. My buddy called me from the track to tell me what had just happened and he was sobbing. RIP Pete24

Same here. I was riding at Central Village and Jack Camelio called me balling about it. Jack was winning the moto and Pete was in 2nd when from the flaggers said that he just veered off of the track and crashed and then he got up was stumbling around his bike and collapsed and died. I still can't believe he's gone. The services for him were very sad. It was amazing to see all of the people there. Paul Buckley made about 20 16x20 posters of Pete for the funeral home and one of the girls gave me one. I'm framing it and hanging in my sports room.

Was just looking at the 2021 Fall NESC final points to see who did what and saw Pete 24 listed in the 50 and 55+ results.
