I think Kenny wins this thing, but if Ferrandis can keep it on two wheels and avoids a DNF he is a legit threat. I'd like to see Adam stay in the fight but I would be a little more worried about his overall consistency. The racing has been the best I can remember for a long time--so frickin good. The other pre-season favourites continue to look unsettled 2 races in.
Only time a prediction could be made so early was when RC and stew made their undefeated runs. Likely will never see that again. What a time to be a young fan.
Everyone losing confidence in Webb’s championship ability. That’s putting the cart before the horse yall.

Webb hasn't shone any potential to be a serious title contender outdoors on the big bike. He needs to find about 4 seconds a lap . Tall order.
Kenny. Dylan has been amazing but in 2/4 races he had to come from the back because of his starts. Kenny was up front early in all races. Went backwards in Pala race 1 but right now it looks like that won't happen again.
Hopefully it remains close for a while.

The two "bad starts" from Ferrandis were top 10 starts. Not so bad if you ask me.

I didn't say they were "bad" but they did give Kenny an advantage in both motos. Luckily he's used to coming through the field but passing guys like Tomac and Webb isn't exactly an easy task. He was stuck behind Webb for about 3 laps early in the moto despite being clearly faster

I think we'll have a better idea when the series goes east and the hot and humid temperatures start showing up.
I’d be equally stoked for any of the top ten guys to pull it off; racing has been too good for me to really care who takes it. Just enjoying the show! I do worry about Kenny later in the summer. Hopefully it’ll come down to the last round!
Kenny looks good so far, but he hasn't really been challenged yet the way Webb challenged him in supercross. Once Webb got in Kenny's head it was over for him. as soon as AC, Dylan, or BamBam put a hard pass on kenny it will be over for him as well.

Outdoors I don't think so . That was a pretty aggressive move AC put on him and it didn't seem to rattle him at all.

If yesterday’s moto 1 was any indication of how he is going to race the series I like his chances. He showed some grit after being passed by AC9 to pass him back & then rattled DF14 into a mistake to take the lead. Impressive ride nonetheless.
As I’d posted, yesterday...
Here’s who looks to have a shot at it, currently, from what I’ve witnessed these last few weeks:
94 Ken Roczen
14 Dylan Ferrandis
9 Adam Cianciarulo
51 Justin Barcia
7 Aaron Plessinger
23 Chase Sexton

Agree with your list. By mid season we will have a more condensed list I would think.
I think everyone needs to chill out and watch a couple east coast rounds first. The tracks are so different and some of these guys are just not good on hard pack. I expect to see potential Moto wins from Webb, Marv, AC, Sexton, ET3, and AP7.
We have 20 motos left to go and and by the end of it all I think 5-8 different riders win motos. Ken and DF have a huge head start but I expect everyone to have a couple of off motos.
My god, this field is sick. Even losing 2/3 of the Husky team isn’t hurting it yet. Hopefully we don’t see many more injury drop outs and it stays stacked.
Another thing to consider is the summer heat back east hits different than SoCal, and Colorado in June. Can KR stay strong in east coast humidity? I know DF will.
Bottom line - I have zero confidence in picking anyone this early.

Didn't kenny get pass by df n ac first moto n Kenny still won.
This ain't supercross
not that it really matters at this point, but Kenny and Dylan are 19 points over 3rd place already. I wont be surprised if its a 2 man battle from here. I don't see either of them having exceptionally bad finishes this season.

In all seriousness though, I see it being:
1) KR95
2) DF14
3) AP7
4) JB51
Praying with all my might to the MX gods that they all stay healthy!!

Who do I think will actually take it? KR or DF.

Roczen if the above doesn't happen and if he doesn't do his classic fade.
Cianciarulo if the above two have any big problems, and if he can stop tucking the front.
Plessinger if the above three all have big fuck ups at some point.
Webb, if he can figure out 450 motocross as quickly as he figured out 450 supercross. Most likely a real threat next year.
Wild card: Barcia
