I personally don't think we will see another RC/McGrath/Everts/Cairoli kinda guy again. The highest level of the sport just gets more and more competitive every year (wich is great and far more entertaining). The best riders train together, they know each other's strengths and weaknesses. Everyone has the best fitness and nutrition program figured out. The top guys are often very close in speed and only small mistakes and mental strength seperates them.
Will we see Jett winning titles? For sure, I don't think anyone would bet against that. But let's stop praising guys too early in this era. The future is bright not only for him, but also for a lot of upcoming riders. There is more than one guy in the 250s right now.

You're absolutely right. The same process has already happened in other sports. Bill Russell won, what, 13 championships with the Celtics back in the 50s and 60s? There is simply no way a player will win that much ever again because of much more competition at the highest level, simply too much parity. The Yankees couldn't stop winning World Series back in the first half of the 20th century, but more teams developed and started to pose a realistic challenge every single season to where the Yankees have been much closer to average since the 70s. A "top guy" in SX won't be able to win 7 titles in 8 years moving forward because the chances of nobody rising to his level over that span of time are close to none.

The fact more guys are more competitive and so close together now compared to times past; why do people think that is?
Personally I think, the user friendly 4t’s started it, but now there’s mapped on the fly ignitions and injection systems, start maps, traction control, suspension sensors, start devices, standardised start grids, litpros, etc etc.
Take some of that away and we’d very quickly see some separation of skill again. It was that elite skill level that allowed guys to dominate, not their nutrition and training regimen.
I think Chad had a point on the last DMXS, Just fix the whoops and dangerous stuff before the main. With a pristine track everyone is the same speed the first 10 minutes and it becomes startcross.
My hope is that real soon, no-one mentions Jett without adding a salutation toward Hunter. Or better said, no-one can discuss top prospects without both brothers being mentioned.
So many variables in this sport. Too early to say. Personally, I do not believe it. Fast very young but that does not mean that you will end up winning +5 titles in the big class.
He actually wasn't that fast at the start,he was around same speed as Chris blose at aus sx last year.
His learning n speed gained since starting ama sx is outstanding
Question is how much faster will he get in next year's sx season, that's anybody's guess .
If jett starts to dominate this year's ama outdoor s ,then I reckon he will be on new level come sx 2022
I dont think Hunter is underrated. I think his hype fizzled a little when he kept waddin himself. I’m glad to see him make it through a full sx series and hope he does the same through the TGO. The Lawrence bros are good dudes.
I don't think that Jett will rack up as many titles as McGrath, but I certainly think that if it was up to Daniel Blair him and Jett would have a few videos together on OnlyFans.

DB is always just really high on one specific person riding well at the time. 2019 he was the same about forkner. Then sexton. Now Jett. Jett is good. But he’s no mc/rc.

Well to me its sorta turning into golf. Whoever has a great day wins the tournament.

I’m curious as to why you lumped in a bunch of guys that lost a lot of titles in with RC? Will we get another RC? No.
Most likely we won’t get another guy with 7 SX titles like MC but will get a guy that has 8 SX/MX titles again like MC. Gajser is 24 and already has 4 titles with 3 of em in the premier class. There is always dominant guys, the real problem is injuries. Look at Hannah and RJ they won a ton of races but got cut down in the middle of there prime. Tomac is arguably a couple injuries and a couple of bike problems away from at least 3 more SX titles. Roczen and Herlings who knows how much more they would have won without injuries. Replace competition with injuries and you would have a proper argument, but since the beginning of this sport there have always been dominating guys whose biggest problems is injuries.
I'll believe the hype when it lasts a little longer than 6 mos. At this point there is a good chance he dominates, but as good of a chance that becomes another regular guy.

This^^^ I'm not sure how MC avoided injuries other than being one of the first to seperate racing SX and MX. RC was no doubt one of the toughest sumbitches, small compact, fit and just hated to lose soooo bad. He had one injury that I know of that prevenyted him from racing and it right after he finished waxing the world at the MXDN was when he Decided to fix his knee that had been bothering him all season. He later siad that the time off rechardged him and without it he probably would have burned out much sooner....thats when Honda and him parted and he went on to do legendary things on a yellar bike.
So many factors need to come into alignment but most importantly you can't get hurt-
You just heard this on a podcast and that’s the only reason you know that. If Steve didn’t say it you never would have known.
He also said Tortelli had Everts covered, i would nt call going down to the last race of the season with the exact same nub of points s and same number of wins in the season " COVERED " . Plus when the sport went 4 stroke Everts was alot better .. end of the day The USA never got to see a full on healthy Albee on a good bike and Tortelli for the most part . Imo if Albee had of went over and just done outdoors on a Yamaha say . The record books would be alot different in the US
If this was true Jett should have won 2 titles already imo . Jett is class . But the difference between him and say RC are huggggggggeeeeeeeeeee at the moment
If he wants to be mentioned in the same sentence as Carmichael, Stewart, McGrath etc he needs to walk away with the number 1 plate at the end of this summer. Maybe he will.
