If he can ride this well in the 3 remaining rounds he sure has a chance. Just can't brain fart or ride around in 9th anymore
Thank God, I thought Webb would wrap this up at SLC 1
So far this season mainly, but in the past too, Kenny follows up a dismal race with a win. Almost as if he redeems himself. He must beat himself up real bad during the week.
I thought the bleeding would continue but Ken turned it around. I doubt this would happen but you start thinking about the penalty and then Wilson’s road block and it’s a real tight series. I still think Webb wins with a few points to spare but if it’s under 9 you would always have to wonder.
Kenny is having the same kind of season that Eli had in SX from 2016-2019. Should have been his year, but it won’t be. A couple more passes at any of the previous races and the title would be his if he won out. Instead he’s going to have to win out and hope Webb is a couple of spots behind him.
Kenny was sharp all day and Webb wasn't. In qualifying too... Webb simply didn't have the speed today and Roczen had the speed and the desire to put together a fantastic ride.

It doesn't seem that uncommon for Webb to be meh in qualifying for the top guy. Qualifies 5th, 2nd in heat, 1st or 2nd around the first corner in the main and wins
Glad his main finally went the way of his qualifying though and made the championship closer

Couldn’t agree more
Still he’s dropped the anchor to much as well

Help me on the points. You say "under 9 would always wonder".
Is this what your're pointing to? (or something else I might have forgot)
- 4 point penalty - Red Cross flag - Houston 2
- 6 point swing - lapping Wilson - Houston 3
Regardless, interesting scenarios and numbers are fun to manipulate between races. Here's one, which certainly brings the Red Flag penalty into perspective. (again just an exercise, typically over a 17 round season everything has a way of working out)
Here's my 4 point Scenario (and for the 2nd time who cares!...just fun to play around)
If Roczen wins out, Webb finishes 2nd (all 3 rounds), Roczen would be 4 points down. No Red Cross penalty, they would be tied on points and Roczen wins championship with higher win total (7).
Personally I was of the belief that it was basically over, have to give credit to Roczen though he really turned things around right when he needed to. Question is can he keep it headed in that direction? Webb is a lot like Dungey, you can't rely on him having too many nights like last night as it just doesn't happen often.
All coop needs to do is finish near or just ahead of roczen. It’s his championship manage. Doesn’t need to win. Just can’t let roczen win and finish like yesterday.
I'll be very surprised if Kenny doesn't beat Webb on Saturday as well. This track is kryptonite for Webb. He excels at the tighter tracks with his ability to pivot in turns like no other. This big ass track is mostly about raw unadulterated speed.
Thank God, I thought Webb would wrap this up at SLC 1
Still, very glad Kenny was able to pull out a win tonight. Proves he still wants this and has a very good chance.

Post a reply to: Congrats Kenny, we got a tight series...
