His son Ryan posted last night he has passed away. Another huge loss for the nw mx racing community. He was as good as they come and will be missed dearly. Rest easy

RIP Sir.

Not only did he put on a top-notch facility, but as I understand, fought like crazy (spending lots of money in the process) to keep the track open after the NIMBY crowds moved in nearby. NW motocross owes a great deal to the Huffmans.

Ralph was a one of a kind person, always smiling and had a heart of hold. He did do much for moto, like others mentioned he spent a fortune of his own money on Washougal and keeping it alive. Such a great dude and much love to the entire Huffman family who lost an amazing person.

You are correct and I was going to actually put that but I have not been to the tracks in Europe only in Holland Valkensward and that was a cool track. Cool

But yeah the facility, track and surrounding beauty of Washougal are second to none so yes it is world class, thanks to Ralph Huffman and his Family.

Will never forget being at Woodland, Ralph was talking to somebody in a car and he intentionally stuck his foot ( His prosthetic foot) in front of their tire and they pulled ahead and stopped on his foot. Several people around were freaking out about his foot getting smashed and Ralph just giggled. He will be greatly missed.

Growing up in the NW, about 7 hours from Washougal, it was always such a legendary and mythical place. Once I was a teenager we started making the annual pilgrimage to the National every year and witnessed some truly legendary motocross moments. Pastrana in the whoops, KW taking it to RC etc. etc. I also got the chance to line up for several Moto and Off Road races there over the years, great times all of them.

Washougal is a place that will always be special to me. Mr. Huffman had such a positive impact on so many people like myself that he never even met.

Rest In Peace sir, the Moto Community is forever better for having had you in it.

Grew up racing clarks branch. Him and carolynn were the best. He was an old school blue collar and honest guy. The world needs more like him, not less.
