If he rides 30 hours a year, he'll be doing a top-end once every two-years lol

I dont think anyone else mentioned it but you said you dont ride a lot and dont think you'll improve much. well if you put on some new graphics kit and some titanium bolts your pretty much guaranteed to drop laptimes

You know, every now and then, I think I might want to get with the times and ride a 4-stroke. And every time I borrow a buddy's or demo one, I am sorely disappointed. I truly think I will never get used to engine braking. It absolutely RUINS the moto experience for me. Seriously, if I had a choice to ride only a 4-stroke or not ride at all, I'd probably quit riding. It's that bad for me. I even raced a 250F for a year. I was disappointed every single day of ownership.
If you can ride a 4-stroke and not be horrified and disgusted with the handling, then go for it. As for me, I'll be mixing gas forever.
Was the same way when they started putting hydraulic disc brakes on bikes.

Touche. Cool

For the record, I love disc brakes. I was riding bikes with drums and didn't complain when that improvement was made. Same with water cooling, piggyback shocks and power valves. None of those changes made me a slower rider, but 4-strokes have. (I am demonstrably faster on a 2-stroke, on every track, in all conditions.)

What fuel are you guys running? I have access to non-eth pump, but have little reason to believe it would be much higher quality than eth pump, besides no ethanol? T4, VPR?

I remember injected 250fs are supposed to be pretty fuel efficient so not worried about cost till around 15/gallon

I think it'll work out! I should mention that I own a big bore Superjet as well, and as much as I wanted to open a yamaha 2 stroke museum; I probably spent 1500 dollars on VP 110 last summer, lol.

I just did a set of Mx tech luckies on my 250xc they are incredible and the price that I paid was less than I was expecting which was really nice.

Your choice!
What other parts are there to change? The valves on my last 250F had over 300 hours on them without issue. I did change my cam chain, but it wasn't out of spec, just thought I should. OEM chains are $17...

That $140 includes gaskets, and oem cam chain is $17 from RM.

I just switched from a 19 YZ250 to a 2020 Yz450f. I’ve been a die hard two stroke guy for the past 15 years and I cannot believe it took me this long to get a 450. I still love two strokes but will not have one for my main bike.

Nothing super special, wanted a surf standup but haven't worked up the balls to take it out in the ocean yet lol. I just wait till it's super windy and then go try and ride this buoy course on the lake, some of the best upper body traininjg for moto that I've done so far.
