Does anyone know why Motocross Action has completely ignored this announcement, along with the rolling out of the 300RX? They can't use the excuse that the 300RX is just an enduro without lights, because I can't remember how many KTM/Husky 300 TPI conversion projects they've done. Am I missing something, a new manufacture entering the motocross market should be news worthy to an all motocross publication, right?

Official Beta Team SDM Corse photos just released prior to their debut at the Italian national championship this weekend.

Beta

Jimmy Clochet

So far you can see full KYB A-kit front and rear by Technical Touch, an HGS exhaust with a longer headpipe, split triple clamps, red number plate and fork guards and maybe different linkage?

New engine cases. No more kick start spot. Smaller looking lower end.

I don't care for the raised look on the front number plate... But overall, I think they jumped in with both feet and have done a great job getting bikes on the track.

Good eye, not sure about the lower end, it was new in '20 when they moved the clutch and crankshaft closer. Either way definitely new!

That would be a great bike as I love riding my 125 but sometimes you want/need a little more. Especially at Glen Helen with the hills. I already have a 200 Beta trials bike so a 200 mx bike would look great sitting next to it in the garage.

After the recent changes that’s why I was a bit surprised with new cases. I expect some fuel injected two strokes soon also based on what I’ve been told. Beta seems to be moving forward.

Spoke with a 2021 200 RE owner today that has his at 211 with off road guards.

So the RE is the off road bike? I wonder how that would fare on the mx track? I don't know anything about the Beta offroad/mx bikes?

And did you mean his weighs 211 lbs ?

The RE is slang for the RR Race Edition, one of 2 Enduro model 200's Beta makes. Would make a killer MX bike. Strip the lights and excess wiring, take off the kickstand and go. It has KYB forks and no oil injection and different graphics.

Perhaps in the future a MX RX200 model might be reality, but not yet. The RX300's are just getting into owner's hands now.

This one has an MXT National shock and Lucky inserts in the KYB's, a Scalvini pipe and more. Yes 211 lbs but could be lighter if he went full MX mode.

I know it’s only aesthetics but they need to change the colour on the tank, it’s too enduro like IMO. Apart from that they look lovely

Yep, that is the standard enduro tank, and personally I like the color since you can tell the fuel level, but I wouldn't be surprised to see something of smaller capacity and size and weight. With plastic molds being expensive, if they do that it would need to be a production based unit. It would be cool to see a prototype alloy tank in the meantime.

Look like Clochet still has a Sachs shock. Jeremy had a relationship with Technical Touch and they may have built him a prototype shock?

Personally I'd slap on a MX Tech National shock, but a Lanier compression adjuster on the Sachs is also a good setup.

Kevin, the Beta 200 has an awesome motor which I really like, but it’s an off-road bike all the way. It doesn’t have the top end over-rev you’d be looking for.
It’s good for a old guy like me, not an old guy like you 😂

It’s not like you are in any particular class with a 200 anyway. A shorter silencer and cranking the power valve will give some hit and rev. It’s not like there are lots of choices in the 200 class. Low end power is not a bad thing.

Good question but I doubt it, seems like he is staying on the West Coast, Beta has hired an East Coast Team Manager for the GNCC's and NEPG, Keith Obermeyer.

Personally I'm hoping for Bobby Hewitt..

Rodney is the race team manager for the complete team both East and West. I don’t know Kieth’s title, but from what I know he’s running operations back East.

One of these days my brain will be able to differentiate between Beta and GasGas, for some reason on even on paper, the two seem the same. I have always just associated both brands to trials bikes and lumped them together for that reason.

It is rad Beta is officially entering MX, their bikes are works of art. Clean lines, fresh colors, good components. I hope they keep growing! (and stay independent of KTM).
I get it. I'm the same way.

What´s the difference compared to a Beta 300rr Racing Edition - aside from the taillight and front mask?

Probably the valving in the suspension, but that´s all I can figure.
