I spoke with my wallet while broken LOL

Edited Date/Time 2/23/2021 11:15am
I've been on the couch for the last month with a broken fibula. My son and I made the trek South to Temecula for the annual moto trip. 4 days into our 14 day trip tragedy struck in the form of a heated pit bike battle at State Fair mini night.I hooked my foot in a corner and snapped it clean. I sadly limped back home to Oregon. While lying on the couch healing and internet shopping I ended up making two questionable financial decisions especially while broken LOL. 2021 Outlaw 29j motorhome and 2021 KX250in the same day. Eff it!!! You only live once!!! As soon as I get clearance I will be back in So Cal minus the pit bike.

I was going to buy and outfit a sprinter but decided I really want a shitter and a shower at the track....

No pain meds were involved in this purchase LOL. I wish I had that excuse.

Nice! As I get older, and caring for failing parents, my perspective is changing. My mother, who is battling a losing cause with cancer, told me to go live before it's too late. My father has dementia and can't remember going with me to the races.

Thus, I'm shopping a new truck (getting what I want vs settling), I have a Tenere' 700 on order and I'm planning to do the TAT this summer to raise funds in the fight against lung cancer.

Young guys, save as much of your pay check as you can while you're young - at least in a 401K. Have fun young, but live frugally and retire as soon as you can... I have 4 more working years and I plan to die broke! I believe in working to live vs living to work. I don't blame those who are workaholics - for some their work is also their hobby...

I did the same thing. Broken Scapula and went out and got a 21 YZ250F. I wont spend myself into poverty but not buying what I want because of a price tag is something I wont do. I do what I want with my money

Thank you, it shouldn't be too long. Hoping to be back on it mid March. Sprinters are too small for shitters. My son isn't in to Dad shitting in the middle of the living room LOL.

Thanks Man! I used to live in Media Pa for a minute. I think it was around 98-99. I'll have to ask my wife the street name. It was a super cool old neighborhood with all these little turn of the century houses kind of back in the woods with a massive bamboo grove.Awesome spot!!

Cha ching!

Beautiful set up. We will assume that you would have bought a real KX250 if Kawi still made one.

A wise man once told me “The smaller the wheels, the more dangerous it is” 😂. Well played on the new toys. Heal fast and jump back in. I have had lots of older people tell me the same thing, they wish they did more before their health started going. Get it while the gettings good ! 👍

The rig and the bike are awesome.

That said, didn’t the “spoke with my wallet” thing used to mean, “I bought a two-stroke to show there is still demand?”

They are sweet! Did you have any issues drilling into the floor? It looks like you have a risk racing footpeg tie down and a pingle chock in front of the door? I have 5 pingle chocks from my old toy hauler but not sure what I am going to do. I unfortunately think I am going to have to remove that under bunk cabinet to be able to use the bunk with bikes on board.

My other big question is, Has anyone installed a larger fresh water tank? This is high on my list. 40 gallons is not enough.

It did mean that. We do have a new YZ125 I'll throw a picture of that up eventually in the thread.

Dang Patrick....All in all sounds like a better trip than the last time you went down in Cali that’s for sure. Congrats on the freshie. I’m gonna be getting a bike here soon for the first time in years. Maybe I’ll see ya around Mountain View or something this season.

Congrats on the rig and bikes. I’m glad y’all posted pics of the garage with the bikes in it because I have been considering the 29j but wondered how the bikes would fit. Can you tell me if the generator will run the house air and the garage unit simultaneously? I think the garage unit on those rigs are 110v?

No, very easy to install the Risk Racing devices. Have installed a second one now too. Screws it came with seem to be perfect length and once measurements were taken, simple as screwing the 8 screws in! First time using it and its so easy and convenient!

I was doing some trial fitup with the Pingle chock but haven't installed it yet. I don't transport 3 bikes often so I'm thinking of running the third bike in backwards in the center and using the Pingle Quick Release hardware to make it easy to take on/off the wheel chock.

Keep me posted on what you hear about the water tank. There is some unused space under the sink to the left of the drawers that would be nice as extra water!

I did a fair amount of research on that before buying and there is a good Thor Outlaw Facebook group that is super helpful. Consensus from the group seems to be that the 4000W generator is capable of running both AC units at the same time but you're probably not going to be able to be microwaving something or making toast at the same time. The garage unit is basically a window AC unit and plugs into a normal 110V outlet in the garage. We just picked ours up before christmas and took a family trip down to Gulf Shore and have taken some local trips with bikes.

We're going on a riding trip to OK in a week and will have the garage loaded up with bikes and a trailer with more bikes so we will be putting it to the test soon! Feel free to message me with questions. So far super happy with it!

Planning to hit up Stillwater 500 on Friday the 19th and Jandebeurs on Saturday. Sounds like they are grooming up the National track for that day! Head on up and you can check out the RV and do some riding!
