We have 8(?) but for example will go through 3 in a race weekend and 2 during the week(thats if I am not riding and it's just the kid(s). I usually have the my son wash them and he does a good job, but then the oiling takes me lets say 20 minutes when all is said and done? I use No-Toil spray on oil (love the stuff) and their cleaner. We do get support but right now they are out of stock, so I am paying $16-ish a can through RMATVMC and get about 3.5 filters per can. So doing the math, I am paying about $6-ish a filter to clean and prep? Again time and cost, it may be worth it?
How do you only get 3.5 filters per can. I’d have to guess I get atleast 10 out of a can

This makes me want to pick up a washing machine on Craigslist and start a local service. It's dusty as shit here.

I don't know why NoToil or TwinAir don't offer subscription programs. Get a clean oiled filter in the mail once a week or something depending on what level you sign up for.

If your main concern is time then i'd recommend use your washing machine w/notoil.

I have used the home washing machine for years. Drop 10 filters in and they come out like new. Never had an issue with clogs or stuff being left over that stained the next load of laundry either.

That takes much less time than printing a fedex label and packing a box.

I was told at the track about a service that you can send dirty filters into and they send them back cleaned and oiled, for a fee of course. Anyone heard of this before?
Hello dear chap,
That service is mine,
DT1FILTERSERVICE, we have been in business for over ten years, originally to service all the race teams that DT1 sponsored. And for the last few years it’s open to everyone, this is the same service that has won four championships with Star racing back in the day with Webb and Martin, also Rockstar Suzuki for a few years with Anderson and Millsaps, over the years we have serviced all the filters from Factory KTM, Factory Yamaha, Factory Husqvarna etc etc blah blah blah,
Basically we have taken care of an awful lot of really dirty filters and kept a lot of motors running clean.
We are based in Murrieta @ 38372 innovation court,
Building C, Unit 303, Murrieta 92563, the cost is $7 per filter, we wash, we dry, we oil and pop them in a fresh new bag ready to go, same service as the pros get, so if you want to feel a little “factory”

Then give me a call 951 833-5555
We also offer discounts for volume
$7 per filter
Ten or more filters are $6 each and
20 or more are $5 each, fill a box up with your riding buddies and share the discount 🤔 or don’t and buy yourself a beer with the money you saved as you sit back and relax, while we do your dirty work.

NoToil is the business. Cleaned two last night with no harm to anyone or the enviro in less than 10 minutes. Used some advise from here. Oxy clean is the NoToil detergent. Hot water, oxy first dunk squeeze and knead. Second dunk and knead with clean water and non squeezed filter from first dunk knead, third dunk and clean knead. In clean water on squeezed filter from second dunk. Zero dirt clean as the board of health. Hang to dry. Got home from work today sprayed on oil and stuck in a bag. Another 10 mins maybe.

Skip a post a day and you got time for filters.

As my uncle once said “everything is an excercise”...

This is my method as well. Though if I have a bunch, I will get all the major crud out then throw them
in the washing machine to finish.

I use the 2nd nozzle that comes in the top of the can and spray the inside and out. I make sure the outside is completely covered. Usually I have just enough that when I squeeze it there isn't any squeezing out, but you can see where my fingers were squeezing. Thats what I did before using the spay can too. I want to make sure that filter is coated inside and out. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

I use what ever nozzle is on the red can when it comes. I spray the outside good, the rim of the airfilter good, then a little on the inside. Then I squeeze it all together.

Who knows, maybe I don’t put enough on lol. Although, out of the 5 bikes I maintain, I don’t ever see dirt getting by...

Love those red cans though, makes it so easy. Then I use the oxy clean to clean them quickly in my garage sink

My go to airfilter are the tusk ones, can’t beat the $10
Or so price and quality seems comparable to the $30 or so twin air ones

Testing my memory but Back in the 90’s think it was Twin Air that had a exchange program at nationals and SX that was handled by Scott(?) through the Bridgestone tire rig.

Get at least 3 washable filters and use the No Toil biodegradable. The "oil" washes away easily in the sink and it's easy to re-apply and throw in a bag. Takes all of 30 minutes... I still hate doing it lol

Why don't you just use a washing machine? When I bought my wife a new one I moved the old one to the garage. I just roll it out and hook the hose to it outside and throw them in on delicate they come out looking brand new. Heck I still did it in that washer I the house I just didn't let her know about it.
Years ago I baked a KDX exhaust in the oven I had just resprayed. The fumes lingered so bad the oven was unusable. I was never forgiven.
