They also have a pretty good bike stand for less than $30 I picked up four of them just to have a extra or two.

Harbor Freight cart isn't bad for the money, good enough for a weekend warrior but not pro quality by any means.

Some nice setups but some of you need to WIPE THE DAMN GREASE OFF YOUR DAMN TOOLS and THE TOOL BOX!! they are a investment and as long as you take care of them they will take care of you. I have high dollar tools and some cheap stuff too but I wipe them down before putting them away. Now if you are a old school diesel mechanic I would understand. Pinch
Lol. My toolbox is 8 feet long and 6 feet high. I would say I’m a new school diesel and gas tech. That’s my roll cart, it goes right up to or under the car or truck I’m working on and it holds the tools I use 90% of the time 40+ hrs a week. If it was at my home and I had an unlimited amount of time to clean up then yes my tools would be clean and have little wear. I don’t always get customers that have well maintained and clean vehicles and flat rate doesn’t compensate you for anything but the job.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that box is not going to be big enough. A 42” bottom box on wheels is where you should start. menards, home depot, and lowes, has toolboxes similar in price to HF and theyre higher quality. if i were doing it again i wouldnt buy US general. The drawers dont like to stay shut.
Truth..Bought this a few months back from HD and it's almost filled up..

I’ll have to snap a pic but if you’re ever after a cheap rolling stand the Pittsburgh motorcycle stand fits perfect on their smaller dolly that’s $7.99. I have two of those setups and love being able to wheel each bike out of the way.

Because of this thread, I picked up a 44”. Like mentioned before, they didn’t have the one I wanted so they sold me a floor model and heavily discounted it. My dad had the smaller topper new in a box and didn’t want it so he passed it on to me for the right price of $0. All total I’m into this setup for $237! Been awesome!

I would agree you are new school. Old school would be standing on their box to reach into the truck and I have see them with their tools in laundry baskets and milk crates and piles and piles of oil soaked shop rags everyplace. Sad

Add my vote for mobile workbench style. Just did the water pump on my truck in the driveway yesterday. Was really nice to have to work top and to be able to roll it where you want.

Oops, the fine print on the 20% off coupon says tool cabinets not included, but if you get there by Sunday, you can get 15% off.

I might have to see if I can get myself a floor model.

I was given On Shine High for my birthday. Very satisfied with them and is great for new DIYers and it's big enough to grow with you as you add more tools. Is solidly built and has a great look.

If this thing could talk...

This is my dads original toolbox that he used for many years racing in the woods of Michigan. I now use it for a RV Road box.

Sears "yellow tape" still on the side from the day he bought it. (1971-72)

Still works perfectly.

My set up was $150 at Home Depot. It holds everything I need to work on my bike. I was limited o space so had to compromise. I use a folding table if I need to assemble stuff.
I was just at Home Depot the other day to look at some Milwaukee stuff and I was absolutely stunned by what Husky is offering and the price.

Totally going shopping this weekend.

That looks sweet, did you cut the foam yourself or did you have it done somewhere?

I have a couple Craftsman boxes, the black were Xmas gifts over 20 years ago, Ted was Craigslist about same number of years ago. After seeing all these I may start looking for a higher quality used box and maybe re do my make shift cabinets and work bench. It’s served me well but need to invest in me sometimes...

Thank you. All hand cut personally!

For anyone that may be interested. Excludes tool chests and carts but still can pick up some good hand tools.

Nothing too special but, it works just fine for what I need. I’ve had it close to 30 years now. The smaller box to the left on the floor is one that goes in the trailer for ride days.

This is my dads sears box i believe it’s either late sixties or early seventies like yours! I get comments at the track from old timers all the time asking how old is your tool box!!!

really cool to see another one like i’ve had since acquiring it from him in the late eighties!
