This is my traveling toolbox that stays in the van. As stated, you shouldn't need to take the "Home" toolbox with you to the track. danclovin633 and KTM300XCW2018 submissions above are Toolbox Porn !!!!! .

Damn it, this thread is going to cost me money, but thanks for all the ideas.

I have a similar sized stainless box that stays in my truck. It is not strictly for moto though because we camp with a travel trailer and sometimes repairs pop up that can't be done with metric tools. I have changed out o-rings on my trucks fuel injectors on the side of Highway 395.

Is a toolbox really a toolbox without a custom full exhaust foam cutout?

What I liked about the Matco box was I was able to customize the drawer layout to fit my needs when I ordered everything.

I have a 1/2 locker with a shelf for chargers and 2 drawers full of junk. Do you have a roll cart for sockets, pliers, battery tools, wrenches etc.? I’ve had days when I don’t even use anything in my big box because 90% of the tools I use are in my roll cart.

My set up was $150 at Home Depot. It holds everything I need to work on my bike. I was limited o space so had to compromise. I use a folding table if I need to assemble stuff.

I have a basic cart with the stuff I use everyday then I get out the stuff I need for the job. I hate digging for stuff in a cluttered cart.

3/8 Mac deep wobble, 3/8 Matco short wobble, Matco mid lengths are my go to for probably 90% of jobs I do.

My boss went to Kawis racing headquarters in CA a couple years ago and he described it as a hospital operating room.

Figured I would update. Been snagging good deals on used tools from garage sales and such (including that snapon wrench set) and spent some money on some organizers for everything. Wanted to see what I could get out of my hand me down snap-on box from pops before I pulled the trigger on a HF cart. Gonna keep putting some dough away from side jobs so I can get one by December. This’ll have to do for now.

I thought that other picture was funny because it’s like my boxes. I’ve had these 40 years 😮

I bought this one from Harbor Freight and have been very pleased with the quality. It may not last 40 years like my Snap On box, but it may outlast me lol.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that box is not going to be big enough. A 42” bottom box on wheels is where you should start. menards, home depot, and lowes, has toolboxes similar in price to HF and theyre higher quality. if i were doing it again i wouldnt buy US general. The drawers dont like to stay shut.

Never move a rolling box, no matter the manufacturer, without first locking it.

I work out of a Kennedy every day, and have to move it all over the plant.

If a heavy one opens, it can be bad.
Watched a co-worker capsize his, and not only did it scatter tools everywhere, it destroyed 2 drawers.

It was a Matco.

We have that same cart/box that we put in the trailer. It works just fine no complaints yet.

A decent quality rolling toolbox has every drawer locked seperately with a hook or something similar. Like snap on has Lock N Roll

Word of advice on the roll cart, get one with good casters, if you overload them it’s pretty easy to tip one over on shitty concrete. I had a small one that got dumped 3 times in one rotation so I got rid of it for one a bit bigger.

I’ll have to get some pics but at work I have a Proto too and bottom box to store a large part of my work tools and a Mac roll cart for my day to day stuff that I use.

At home I have a 3 piece Kobalt box that I’ve had for almost 10 years and works awesome. I also earlier this year picked up a 48inch Husky box for home that had over $3000 worth of Snap on, Mac, and various other tools for the ripe price of $1500!

Harbor freight is doing their black friday this weekend. The 5 drawer cart is down to 200 and they also have a 15% off coupon you should be able to talk a manager into adding on.

If they say no, tell them you called and asked before driving an hour there. They will hook you up.

Some nice setups but some of you need to WIPE THE DAMN GREASE OFF YOUR DAMN TOOLS and THE TOOL BOX!! they are a investment and as long as you take care of them they will take care of you. I have high dollar tools and some cheap stuff too but I wipe them down before putting them away. Now if you are a old school diesel mechanic I would understand. Pinch

Their Boxes and tools have come a long way, they have a newer line ICON and its not cheap but its a nice box for the money. You will be happy with the one you have and it will last. Cool

You can find some decent deals on Craigslist, doesn't have to be a top notch brand, but the snap on, Mac and matco boxes are very good, and priced that way for a reason, Kennedy also makes some nice rollers.
Estate sales are a gold mine also for tools.
