Agreed. I’m fine with the change of cities, it is what it is (COVID) but the regions need to go back to what they were. East first.

I dont know why if it is designated E or W first even matters. Will be same schedule either way, you just have to say you’re racing west instead of East or vice versa

I’ll explain....
The east riders and teams have been preparing for a Jan 16 start.
The west have barely started. They are preparing for a Feb 20 start. I know a west team that got their bikes yesterday.
It doesn’t matter to the fans, Feld or the factory teams, but it highly matters to the smaller west teams and privateers.

I can’t think of a time in the last 20 years when there was no Texas supercross

I can get the frustration at a change, but why wouldn’t the “east” rider or team just race “west” or vice versa. It isn’t like geography matters much this year.

I thought you had to register and pay for the coast?
I seem to recall PC would always sign riders up for both coasts and pay for all rounds, just in case someone got hurt and had to switch coasts

I doubt the smaller teams could afford that

It has nothing to do with geography, it has everything to do with the start date. We are prepared to drive all over the country. We are not ready to start in 4 weeks.
Maybe read my explanation again.

Bro, i read your explanation. I just asked why not do “west” which is the same rounds you were planning to do for “east” or vice versa. Read MY comment again.

Great to see the Atlanta round will be at the Speedway instead of a stadium! Hope they do this more in the future and also hold them during the day.

Probably referring to Houston.

I bet the weather will be a factor in Atlanta. The east coast is typically pretty wet in April.

BTW, here are a couple considerations about ATL

1. Was it moved because of Covid and trying to avoid exposure in such a small area?

2. Was it moved because the rent at MB Stadium is wildly expensive (true) and if minimal spectators, it's a waste of money?

3. Was it because of the problem they had two years ago with any vehicle other than MB being on property and having to be removed, including team cars and sponsor display cars, like Toyota?

4. All of the above

Hey Michael, I listened to you on Matthes' "Renthal Reaction" podcast. Thanks for going on there and explaining the situation from the viewpoint of the smaller 250 West teams. Feld has put you guys in a shitty spot for 2021. Hope things work out so you can hit the season optimally prepared.

Anyone interested here is the link:

Yes so what crashburn is saying is that they have the option to switch to East and have more time to be ready.

Listen to the podcast with ML512 that I linked above. For some teams it is not as simple as just swapping coasts.

Good to see Feld reverse the coasts back to more or less the original schedule. This should simplify things for the smaller teams that had plans in place already.

Thanks Feld!!
And Mike for taking control and talking to them.
Helps tremendously by switching it back.
Will this be the first time ever that west guys have raced Daytoner?

Very cool to have West riders at Atlanta for a change
