At this point, it’s a new antique bike.

Did your Yeti start as a lunch ride addition or did you convert.

converted. The air shaft and damper on the fork are easy to do. I had suspension shop remove the washer for the shock when I had it serviced. Highly recommend!

Picked up a ‘21 stumpjumper alloy comp 29 on Thursday. Specialized is an awful company in terms of their ‘warranty’ but I didn’t really have any options but to get another one. I broke my SJ evo frame in June so I had a 35% discount. I would have bought another evo but they sold out extremely quickly.

Did you mullet that bike or leave it a 29 out back?
My buddy has one and he' going 27.5/29, is why I ask.

I have another friend who just bought a Pivot Firebird 29 today. Dang, I need a new bike soon!

That is pretty damn shitty. What P.O.S. company. You spent your money in good faith for a carbon fiber frame with a warranty. You end having to pay to have an aluminum bike.

I worked at a Trek/Specialized shop for 3 years in college. I won't buy a carbon frame, I know they are "stronger" than the aluminum ones on test benches, but I've seen a lot of broken carbon frames. The only aluminum frames that broke were ones that involved a car...

Falcon,

Left it stock with 29". I don't think that a mullet set up will work any better for the type of riding that I'm doing (or this bike actually). If it was a dedicated DH rig, I would consider it, but would probably just go for a bigger travel bike.

Picked up a 2021 Ripmo AF to replace my YT. The ripmo is a great do-everything machine.

I have the same bike but with a coil and it’s honestly the best bike I’ve ever ridden. It’s heavy but climbs well and descends even better. Other than cockpit changes, all I’m adding to mine is i9 hubs and some stronger brakes.

Niiiiice. I'm all about that bike, but in the charcoal color. Seriously considering that or a Firebird 29.

Was totally wanting to get the Charcoal in the Shimano build, but those are basically unobtainable...lol. I'm 6'2 with long arms and legs so I need an XL at minimum. My dealer had this bike on order since October, the loam gold was not my first choice of color, but in real life its actually really good looking....kinda. Oh, and the bike is AMAZING, I love it.

So I’m looking to get into some sort of all mountain full suspension bike without breaking the bank. Maybe spend a couple grand? I’ve always had specialized, so the first place I looked was at a stumpjumper. For say the ballpark of 2-3k, what else should I be looking at? I’m in New England so lots of climbing and tree roots. Been okay on a rockhopper that I got to start but I want something more compliant

For bang for your buck the Kona Process 153 is a pretty sweet rig.

Canyon, YT or Commencal. Those brands sell direct to consumer, so you get a lot of bang for your buck. $2-3k will get you a pretty gnarly trail bike from any of them.
