Hey guys, my names James Marshall. I had a bad crash and San Diego & broke c5 & c6 on February 11, 2006. I don’t have family support bc my mom isn’t around, same w my dad. My siblings do whatever they do but whatever they do it’s not to benefit me

Some of you made donations, via Facebook when a buddy Carl Schlacht post something but I wanted to let EVERYONE know I couldn’t have made it without you all and in the months to come I can’t do it without you either. Thank you for all the support!

Below was pulled from the Brian Moreau thread a few weeks ago for those wondering:

James is from the Houston area and was racing pro in Supercross. He crashed in San Diego supercross and is now paralyzed.

Anyone who would like to help James out his Venmo is @outlaw452

His facebook is https://m.facebook.com/outlaw452

You have no idea. Understand your response before you post. Our sport forgets injury pretty quick... way before 14 years later.

I have no problem being clicked for this response. I understand my response.

I was at Qualcomm in 2006 when James crashed, in fact it happened right in front of me.

@outlaw452 on Venmo.

I challenge you wealthy vet riders who just bought a new bike to match my 100.00 donation, this guy is a racer and he needs help.

I'll go $200 + $100. Anyone want to keep it growing?

Is it possible for someone to start a go fund?

I grew up racing against JM452 in Houston. He had this purple box van when he was an amateur and I knew it was going to be a long day when I saw that thing in the pits on race day. James is good guy if you have it to give then please send some love his way.

Use @outlaw452 on Venmo, as Brent mentioned unless James wants it by different means.

We all know people. Every little bit helps. Spread the word!

It makes me feel good to see you guys step up.

MX can be a cruel, brutal sport sometimes and it is so good to see that my fellow racers and riders are doing what they can to help.

Remember, it could be you or me lying in the dirt injured someday.

About Venmo versus some of the other ways people handle these donations...

Venmo doesn't cost you ANYTHING if you wait for the bank transactions to happen over their normal 2-3 days. If you "rush" the payments for immediate funds availabilty...? That costs a little bit...I think 1% up to a max fee of $10.

Virtually ALL the other ways of donating/transfering funds seems to cost money. Sometimes stupid money.

This sounds like a very smart set-up. I love that Brent threw down the gauntlet.

In!

My wife asks,"Why am I sending this $100?"
Because we can.

Just sent James $200. I'm not wealthy or a vet that buys new bikes every year but I worked a long ass day of overtime yesterday so I had some $ to spare. What an amazing use of this platform and a big THANK YOU to whomever brought this to everyone's attention. We're all here for the same reason, because we love motocross, and most of us rely on riding as therapy that drugs or drink can't touch. On the flip side, this sport can be devastatingly brutal and a life altering injury can happen to any one of us. Yes there's bickering on here, yes there's name calling, but when push comes to shove and one of our moto brothers or sisters needs help, we all have to have each others back.

...most of us have never met James Marshall, but the generosity that people are showing here for a fellow injured rider is just amazing.

this is why MX is a great family sport.

With so many divisive topics on Vital today I thought I would kick this very worthy topic back to the top.
