I purchased my 2019 rmz250 last year August for $5800 out the door. Every other new bike I looked at was around $1200 more (except for the Kawi which I couldn't find a dealer new me who had one) and I was without a bike and had $6k cash in my pocket so I went with the RMZ because it was the cheapest, brand new bike and I loved the way it looked. That being said, besides the fork which was way stiff, I loved the bike in stock form. One other thing to think about is the 2021 crf250 is the last of the current gen and will be replaced next year. If you are financing the bike I guess I'd go with the Honda if it were me, payments will be hardly different. If you are paying out of pocket. Do what makes most sense for you financially and have fun!

As an older rider that no longer races, the Suzuki powerband was actually a plus to me. No longer doing high speeds or big jumps, fun/easy to ride sounded great. My riding buddy recently bought a 21 KX250 having ridden a KXF for years. Also older, he is having issues with with the high strung powerband. He is looking to make it more vet friendly now.

Check cycletrader.com. Not sure where in LA you are, but Hall's Motorsports advertises $6,599 for a '20 RMZ and $6,199 for a '19.

Those prices (especially for the Suzuki) are way too high. I would try to shop around more if possible. Plain and simple, the Honda is a better motorcycle.
Is it $900 better? Absolutely yes
Is it $3,000 better? Eh, probably not.

Thanks, I'm in NW Louisiana- just checked Hall's in New Orleans and do show some 2020s and 19s leftover for a lot cheaper. Still blown away but what my local dealers are wanting, especially after reading the deals that some of you have gotten... bottom line, there is NO WAY I'm paying 8600 for an 2020 RMZ250, that's just nuts.

Is it $3,000 better? Eh, probably not.
That's the way I've been looking at it... the Honda is a better bike in stock form, I wouldn't have to tinker with the suspension to the degree I would the RMZ, and I'm partial to Hondas anyway. If I could get an RMZ in the low to mid 6k range (which is where it should be) I'd go with it.

If you are you in the market for a rmz. Check with JGR and see what they have for sell. I would think you could find some trick stuff from them right now.

I would go for the rmz. They are extremely underrated bikes that corner very, very well. They handle extremely well too, and are reliable. It would last you a long time. I also like Honda too, because their engines are bulletproof, but way more expensive. The dual muffler also adds weight and is basically useless. The suspension on the rmz will work just fine after a bit of work. Mine is a 2014 and it works very well, but idk about the 2020.

Lol. You probably have never owned one. My cousin thought they were bad but when he rode mine he instantly wanted one and said it was the best bike he had ever rode.

I’ve owned atleast 5 rmz450’s since they are always dirt cheap. Bought one brand new. (My profile pic I’m on a rmz lol)

No complaints, at my level as a local B rider, any bike works for me.

I would never ever pay msrp or a decent price for a rmz though, cause the resale is shit on them. That’s not up for a debate. Same year, same condition ktm will easily sell for thousands more than a rmz, everyone knows that.

I just left Halls Motorsports in Daphne, Al. 8500.00 it's for a 2020 RMZ 250 OTD. 2020 RMZ 450 is 9200.00 OTD. The 450 started at 7199.00. With shipping and prep. Add 1500.00. The rest is taxes. They did have in stock 2021 KX, CR, and YZ. Both sizes.

Big price difference!! Check the cycle trader post that I posted sold 6783.00 for the 450
This morning... when I was looking I showed dealers my lowest price out of state and asked them to match...guess it depends on how bad they want it off floor...

There is a reason they have 2019s left and that isn’t a knock on Suzuki. Any dealer sitting on 2019s in this market is asking too much. Even leftover 2020s with a good looking price is probably a sign of super high fees.
