What do you guys think about NIO? It's gone up 30% since Wednesday.
I was in NIO several (many) pages back in this thread. If I remember right I got in around 10 and it went down to about $1. I bought a little more and it came back to $3 and I sold (was averaged about $5 at that time) because it really looked like they were going bankrupt at the time (never listen to the MSM). So I lost a bit with NIO. Yeah, wish I hadn't sold now, but I am not getting back in.

WELL and CloudMD have been doing it for me lately. Still waiting for my pot stocks to recover so I can dump them for something else, but it ain't happening yet. I'm too stubborn to sell at a loss. Pinch

Serious question here, for everyone speculating and getting huge gains on these smaller stocks, how many are you trying and losing on before you hit a good one or are you getting incredibly lucky and only hitting big on these?

There are a LOT of states with weed legalization on the ballot this year, I'm waiting until after the election to see what happens before I dump mine.

I lost on a few. I lost big time on company stocks that I got from my previous employer.

It is high risk. I am absolutely swinging for the fence on ETMC. Could be foolish. Could be smart.

It’s educated gambling.

I cut down on the smaller stocks and focused on a select few i.e. Tesla, NIO, and a couple others hoping for some big gains in the future.

I lost some money on Aurora and Canopy growth when they first came on the market. But I made silly money off Planet13 and Trulieve. Trulieve is 10 to 1 better than its competitors in this state.

Kind of wish I would have sold when it was around 12, LOL this is going to be one I either do real good on down the road or lose it all.
Same here, but I've bought more and am currently at $3.97 average. Probably just throwing more money away.
I'm such a dumb ass. Wish I still had that NIO!

I just had a $100 call on NIO and dumped it after today. Options are weird, seems they are all about momentum and I bet NIO will level off tomorrow

I agree. It’s hard to figure out where it’s going to go. Bitcoin has basically been following the stock market lately though so who knows.

It’s a coin toss.

Crack addict stock markets high is wearing off since it hasn't gotten a hit of stimulus in a few months.

Guess we need more stimulus. Smile Actually wouldn't mind seeing them come down a lot more so I can buy more.

E3 (ETMC) is starting to show strength @.62
Standard lithium is about their closest competitor and slightly ahead in progress. They tripled with the announcement of their pilot plant.
Hopefully we see ETMC pop to $2.00 as well.

It will be interesting to see how the market reacts tomorrow and Wednesday.

But in the meantime, NIO is killing it.

I had NIO when it got down to around $1. If I had known it was going to make the run it did I would still have it, and then some. Smile

Here's a strategy I just kind of pulled out of my butt, but it has worked kinda good lately for swing trading in my play account.

First, you need a stock tracking program/app. I use Yahoo Finance. Might be better ones out there, I don't know - I'm new at this. You can set up multiple watch lists to stick stocks in to track. Then I just googled up a site that posts the days big gainers & big losers at the end of a day. Might be able to use Yahoo for that. I am north of the border, so sticking with TSX & TSX-V stocks. Start out by picking some of the days biggest gainers, and stick them in your watch list. Spend a couple minutes reading what they are about while you're at it. Yahoo good for that too. I've been watching for smaller caps, most I never heard of before. So kinda off the radar. But not really cheap pennies. Do that over time, and keep watching them for cycles. Most of them will follow up their big day with a bad one. If one does that then recovers again, watch it closer. Buy it on another big dip. Then hold on. Some just have one surge in them for whatever or no apparent reason. Or take forever to surge again. But some have patterns of ups & downs that might show they are about to bust out & really start moving. Each stock on Yahoo also has a chat board. I also read those. Most of the times for amusement, since there is a ton of BS spewing in them. But sometimes, someone will drop a nugget. Maybe a tip on another stock. Or something that is about to happen with the one you are watching, or a link to a news item about it that you might have missed.

Just some quick talk from a stock newbie...
